A bit off topic but somewhat related.
I really like the WiFi radar feature on AC86U, unfortunately this feature is not available on RT-AC5300.
Any free alternative app with similar feature? Those with trial mode normally scans the channel band only.

I'm in the market to buy a router for my parents house. For a budget of RM850, my options are RT-AC86U or RT-AX3000 wifi 6.
House is a double storey bungalow, area about 17k cubic feet per floor. Router location already identified to be at center of the house.
My priority is coverage area & router reliability.
Based on Asus website, RT-AC86U is for Very large homes while RT-AX3000 is for Large homes only.
I've used AC-86U previously and have had overheat issue although I have cooling fans installed since day 1. Already replaced with new unit under warranty.
Other than this issue, RT-AC86U is superb. I'm leaning towards this but I need some feedback on RT-AX3000 for this case.

Hi,
I am familiar with using RT-AC86U (house 1) & RT-AC5300 (house 2), both on Merlin.
Planning to buy a new set for my parents house to replace Unifi Deco M4. usage will be mostly streaming, but the number of users in the house will max (>20 users) during peak season (festival, gathering, etc).
House is a double storey, max 5,000 square feet per storey (estimate from googlemaps).
Budget max RM1k & I have shortlisted below three. Seek your opinion which may be the best choice please.
1. RT-AC86U x 2 (one at each floor) - concern on overheat issue (personally experienced this & have gotten one-to-one replacement. now with external cooling fan) & I seldom goes back to this house 2. RT-AX55 x 2 (one at each floor) - not familiar 3. RT-AX86U (one at ground floor, center of the house) - not familiar, but should be better than RT-AC86U? (but is it sufficient with only one unit instead of twin pack option 1)
Thank you.
