Hi Avatar1975,

Should be no problem with 2 storey house, you can refer to the link below for the chart on our router to get more information on benchmarking.

Asusmy,

I am getting my new RT-AC66U today and would like to upgrade to latest firmware before start using it. I found the latest firmware version is 3.0.0.4.374.726. May I know whether the latest firmware supported Unifi? Does all the firmware there supported Unifi?

Please advice.

Thanks.

Hi sotzesian,

Yes, the new and future firmware will be able to support UNIFI. But do remember to do a factory reset after the firmware update. smile.gif

Thank you

The latest firmware for RT-AC66U with the new latest Broadcom Wireless Driver sucks big time. It failed to support concurrent streaming across 10+ wireless devices. Ping very unstable and spikes up to 800ms - 1000ms.

I'm still stick with the 3.0.0.4.270 firmware. Stability is ok.

I found the router (rt-ac66u) is getting hot after a while. Is that normal? Will it burn with such high temperature? Pls advise.

Hi sotzesian,

I not sure what is the temperature of your router but so far I didn't receive any case saying it will burn.

Thank you

Hi Asusmy,

Compare to my previous TP-link, it is much hotter. Anyway, hope it won't burn easily. Thanks.

Hi Asusmy,

My kids like to play YouTube frequently using PC and that really slow down my network. So how can I set in Traffic Manager to make YouTube connection less priority?

I am using RT-AC66U.

Thanks.

Hi sotzesian,

Youtube are mostly using port 80. You can set it by putting the

Source IP or MAC = your kids PC Mac Address
Destination Port= 80
Protocol = tcp
Transferred = leave it blank
Priority = lowest/low/medium/high

You can set the percentage at the User-defined priorities.

Thank you

Yes, I did factory reset after updated the latest 3.0.0.4.374.726 firmware.

Now I'm still sticking with the 3.0.0.4.270 firmware. Connection stability is ok, mostly it's around 1ms and sometimes heavy traffic will go up to 10ms. Luckily I'm still keeping the old firmware as I noticed ASUS already removed old firmware from their download page.

ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.720
This version add many new features, please press the reset button more than 5 seconds to reset the RT-N66U after firmware upgraded to prevent unexpected problem.

if reset then the latest firmware still there?

Hi coOLR3xz,

Hold it for 5sec, you can notice the power LED light blinking. Release and wait it to do the reset, once stable already, you can redo or do your setting for Internet.

Thank you
