You can do a schedule to turn off the WiFi and turn it on again. Wireless->Professional

There is a WiFi button on the RT-AC86U where you can turn it off and on again.

Wireless back haul will be slow as ac86u doesn't have triband for dedicated backhaul.

Both, in terms of Wi-Fi 5 router, is good. However, investing in them at current time being is not really recommended. Unless you prefer to use wired connection.

RT-AC5300 comes with native ASUSWRT firmware while GT-AC5300 comes with ASUSWRT-ROG skinned firmware, obviously with some gaming features.

As for wireless, this is what most people get wrong. It is recommended to run some test in your environment to ensure that you know where the wireless signal seemed weak and invest on mesh instead to extend the coverage further before settling up with a standalone router. Speaking about picking the right gear for your environment. My suggestion, pick a router that has Asus-Merlin support. I prefer Merlin fw over ASUSWRT always.
