QUOTE(patienceGNR @ Sep 18 2014, 01:00 AM) You're the boss The CP now loads within 1 sec. I just reformatted my laptop today, had to re-input this filter thing, then I remembered that I forgot to tell about this setting Good thing I reformatted today haha. But your connection issue Does your router have this thing called NAT acceleration? Its under LAN>switch control>NAT acceleration. I had to disable it, or else I'll have weird speed issue in multiple websites.

Top up a bit more seem able to buy better router. single core broadcom 800mhz CPU and a single band wireless N router for RM400...wow so overpriced. Should be around 300. I already have an AC68U but just thought there is a new budget ARM router by asus, i thought wrong i guess.

QUOTE(Diademz @ Sep 19 2014, 02:33 PM) Comparatively prices in EU are much cheaper (US$80) and it is only slightly more expensive than the RT-N16 which is still being sold in EU/US but is now EOL here. Since you have the AC68U, you will know that prices here are much higher compared to in EU/US. I just replaced my 9yo WRT54G with the RT-N18U and am very happy with it. For those that don't need the fastest wireless speed, but everything else (fast CPU, lots of RAM, gig WAN/LAN ports), then this is the router to go for a relatively affordable price as well. In my case had noticeable improvement for overall Internet experience (faster browsing, higher download speeds - of course I am comparing with my old router which had 4x slower CPU and 16x less RAM, serving >10 clients... :D) Yeah, thing is other more casual users wouldn't understand why they need to spend so much for a router Iol. I didn't know they were still selling the 16U in the EU. Usually in the US and EU ppl really make sure they're router has 5ghz but yeah it's not really important here. It completely slipped my mind that I paid 800 bucks or so when the 68U just launched in Malaysia  One thing I really like about the asus compared to the unifi router is just how well it divides the bandwidth for everyone, without even using QOS. More than 10 clients here too

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 28 2014, 04:40 PM) squall83OpenVPN works well here. Maybe you can try merlin firmware, that allow you to have more option on OpenVPN for me stock firmware never works for openVPN, while Merlin's firmware always works flawlessly for openVPN

QUOTE(Xnet @ Sep 29 2014, 08:11 PM) Using N66U Found this firmware on the US site Can I use this firmware? Version 3.0.0.4.376.2524 On another note I read some people able to set wifi tx to 200mW and above but I cant seem to see the setting. with the 376 branch they have changed it to a percentage setting, and those pros are saying its max setting is only 80mw, so setting at 100% only gives you 80mw. Go back to a 374 firmware to set at a higher power rate. But even then the router will dynamically change the power rate according to the environment and needs, it wont stay at 200mw, for example.

QUOTE(aidilaidilaidil @ Oct 10 2014, 07:37 PM) Would have buy the RT-AC87U regardless of its price only if it was designed standing up like the RT-AC68U/66U. All of its ventilation holes are at the bottom and thats the dealbreaker for me.. If you don't want to get the ac68u now, then wait for this model http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=18697

I want a 4x4 streams RT-AC87U that can stand up..haha. http://pcdiy.asus.com/2014/01/rt-ac87u-the...-mimo-ces-2014/hmm, actually right, why do you even want 4x4 stream? as far as I know there are no wireless client which even supports it? even 3x3 is rare honest question here

QUOTE(lucklyghost @ Jan 6 2015, 09:57 AM) Dear All Sifu, I;m planning to change unifi router to Asus N66U, i notice there is few people mention about N66U is not so stable however i saw the advertisement mention N66U is the best Wireless router 2014. MY requirement is such as -DDNS ( i notice Asus got FREE DDNS which is good for me, because for Free account DyDns require reconfigure every 30 days) so better got Asus FREE DDNS. -VPN Feature -Gigabit Port -All in One (Modem + Router + Wireless) - (do i still require Unifi Router?) -Guest Login -Netflow (i notice the standard firmware like not able to support Netflow ) -SNMP (For monitoring ) Lastly, anyone flash to DD-WRT firmware ? not sure worth it or not N66u is a very good router, and will be to support your requirements (not too sure about netflow though) SNMP might be available with Merlin firmware. Not too sure about it,but the AC56U definitely supports it This post has been edited by arslow: Jan 9 2015, 10:46 PM

QUOTE(bendonarticx @ Jan 6 2015, 10:33 AM) Hi there. Can you explain in layman terms the difference between High End WiFi product - 802.11ac & 802.11n series Wireless Router and Wireless Application Router / WiFi Storage / WiFi ADSL router? I'm looking at the RT-N56U and the DSL-N55U. What I basically want is to use Sony's Remote Play feature in my daughter's room on the floor above my current modem + router setup. Did some reading and I plan to use the 5Ghz range for it. Currently using UniFi. Try to get the n66u rather than the n56u. Even better would be an AC product provided your phone supports it. Remote play requires 5ghz and definitely a high bandwidth for low latency gaming. Im using limelight on my fireTV now which is unusable with 2.4ghz but its ok with 5ghz. If only it supported AC ,i would be able to stream at 1080p 60fps This post has been edited by arslow: Jan 9 2015, 10:45 PM

Wow, i might finally update from merlin 378.52 to the latest firmware because of this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...com.asus.aihomeThere is even a thing called cloudcheck that it now supports https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...ssia.cloudcheckNice to see asus implementing one after another function for their close to 3 years old routers too.

Noticed lazada asus shop selling the AXE11000 now. Does that mean wifi 6e is already approved by MCMC in malaysia? We can make use of the additional frequency band now?

Was so tempted to get the ax86u during 9.9 sales, but decided to wait for wifi 7 instead as my ac68u is still going strong after 9 years... Bought on August 2013.
Anyone else also still holding out?

QUOTE(tng55 @ Sep 11 2022, 01:32 AM) mine ac68u still going strong since using streamyx 4mbps then may 2019 unifi installed my house once tm technical left i connect ac68u wow stable 100mbps i using over 9year +++ if you are 100mbps batter stay ac68u later upgrade router 800mbps unifi. The cpu goes to 100% on one core and about 90% on the other whenever I download from webservers which allow me to max out my bandwidth lol.bht it still gives me the full 800mbps (100MBps) so that's fine. Only thing I would benefit from AX is even faster transfers between my NAS and wireless devices like my phones and laptop as they all support WiFi 6.but even now I'm getting 60MBps (bytes not bits) so it's already very fast. But still tempted as it has potential to go faster

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Oct 22 2022, 12:24 PM) Samsung phones sold in Malaysia do not have working WiFi 6E. 6GHz band is disabled. All Samsung owners should collectively contact Samsung and get them to enable this in Malaysia https://www.samsung.com/my/smartphones/galaxy-s22/specs/They even have 6ghz as part of the specs in their MY site. Owners should really complain to Samsung...

Looking forward to some wifi 7 based device being teased in CES! and hopefully we see some launch by Computex. But I'm guessing if anything, products this year would be based on draft specs and not finalised specs.
