QUOTE(bambazoon @ Jan 6 2015, 12:14 AM) Hi Asus, I'm using the RT-N18U as a replacement for the Unifi Residential Gateway but I am unable to get Hypp TV to work reliably. When using the Unifi Residential Gateway Hypp TV works normally with no lags, however, when I use the RT-N18U with the IPTV setting on and connecting the set top box to LAN port 4, the connection seems to be very jerky and I get a very choppy video with very frequent and long dropouts. The router came pre-loaded with the latest firmware. Please advise if anyone else is having this problem and how it can be overcome. Thanks! Hi bambazoon, I assume your current firmware is 3.0.0.4.376_2678 which is latest on the website. Can you try do a factory reset and see the problem still persist or not. And beside the HyppTV, may i know is streaming video from web will face this problem or not? Thank you

QUOTE(lucklyghost @ Jan 6 2015, 09:57 AM) Dear All Sifu, I;m planning to change unifi router to Asus N66U, i notice there is few people mention about N66U is not so stable however i saw the advertisement mention N66U is the best Wireless router 2014. MY requirement is such as -DDNS ( i notice Asus got FREE DDNS which is good for me, because for Free account DyDns require reconfigure every 30 days) so better got Asus FREE DDNS. -VPN Feature -Gigabit Port -All in One (Modem + Router + Wireless) - (do i still require Unifi Router?) -Guest Login -Netflow (i notice the standard firmware like not able to support Netflow ) -SNMP (For monitoring ) Lastly, anyone flash to DD-WRT firmware ? not sure worth it or not Hi lucklyghost, Based on the RT-N66U, -DDNS ( i notice Asus got FREE DDNS which is good for me, because for Free account DyDns require reconfigure every 30 days) so better got Asus FREE DDNS. - Yes-VPN Feature - Yes, Open VPN and PPTP VPN-Gigabit Port - Yes-All in One (Modem + Router + Wireless) - (do i still require Unifi Router?) - You will need the TM modem to work together with ASUS router-Guest Login - Yes-Netflow (i notice the standard firmware like not able to support Netflow ) - Nope-SNMP (For monitoring ) - NopeThank you This post has been edited by ASUSmy: Jan 6 2015, 11:50 AM

QUOTE(bendonarticx @ Jan 6 2015, 10:33 AM) Hi there. Can you explain in layman terms the difference between High End WiFi product - 802.11ac & 802.11n series Wireless Router and Wireless Application Router / WiFi Storage / WiFi ADSL router? I'm looking at the RT-N56U and the DSL-N55U. What I basically want is to use Sony's Remote Play feature in my daughter's room on the floor above my current modem + router setup. Did some reading and I plan to use the 5Ghz range for it. Currently using UniFi. Hi bendonarticx, You can refer to the link below that I found on the web to find the answer to your questions. http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/802...-the-differencehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11http://pc.net/helpcenter/answers/differenc...outer_and_modemFor UNIFI, you will need to use RT-N56U instate of DSL-N55U(which is mostly used for Streamyx). 5Ghz range are shorter than the 2.4Ghz. Please make sure the router is not too far away from the device you want to connect. Thank you

Hi sparketh As shown on the video, to use the phone, you will need to use it together with the Maxis router. RT-N66U will be the best choice as DSL-N66U don't have extra phone port for the phone. Thank you

hi Asusmy, I just bought an Asus DSL-N12U C1 for office use yesterday and try to setup the Asus DDNS but it keep saying invalid IP. I have an Asus DSL-N55U at home but no problem register an Asus DDNS account. Additional info - my office is using Streamyx 512KB package (old package) while my home is using Streamyx 8MB package. There is a yellow colour remarks saying "The wireless is using a private WAN IP address (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 172.16.x.x). The router may under a multi-layer NAT network and DDNS service is not able to work under this environment." but my home router IP also been set at 192.168.1.xx and still can register the Asus DDNS account. Is there any way to solve the problem for the DSL-N12U C1? Any particular settings need to be done? Thanks in advance.

Hi Cynox, This is because TM are providing you private IP and private IP unable to register for DDNS. You can try ask TM whether they able to provide you a public IP. Thank you

Btw, I cannot find a place selling DSL-AC68U (stated as RM899 in first page). Is it available in Malaysia or just paper launch coz i also cannot find it at Asus MY web site too. QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Dec 29 2014, 11:36 AM) Hi PBDHH, Currently our office are using the RT-AC87U as well but didn't have any problem accessing the Facebook or Groupon websites without disabling the Firewall of the router. May I ask is all your device also facing the same problem? Including phone? And did you ON the QoS features on the router? Try disable it first and test again. Will this happen if you use LAN cable on your PC or notebook? Thank you Hi PBDHH, I had similar issue and it was resolved after factory reset. AsusMY, A quick question? I'm using RT-AC87U for home use. Kindly advise on what do I configure for my ddns for the router? The server is listed there as Www.asus.com and what about the host name? Hi Mazda9, If your WAN IP is a public IP then you will be able to register a name. You can put the name that you like it will verify whether the name is being use or not. Example of ASUS DDNS. yourname.asuscomm.com Thank you

someone did suggested to me is router issues ...
if so... any model of asus you guys (season asus router user) can recommend ?
the model must be unifi compatible and the hypotv from unifi can work ..
Thank you.

Hi bambazoon, Would like to need your help to test the IPTV using the LAN port 3. Log in to the router then go to LAN -> IPTV -> Select ISP Profile -> Select Manual At the LAN Port 3 put in the value 600 at the VID and apply. Delete the VID 600 from the LAN port 4. Plug the IPTV cable to LAN port 3 and test again. Thank you
