use 20mhz instead 20/40mhz.

QUOTE(WilsonLy @ Dec 18 2015, 09:52 AM)
hi asus, few days ago i bought the n14uhp which is suppose to be more powerful than the D-link modem provided by TM, but turns out it wireless performance is almost identical to this D-link modem.

i tried the wifi analyzer and it is not clashing with other neighbour network

i live in double storey house only, my room get about 3 bars of signal, but it is very unstable connection.

I thought the 3 antenna suppose to be stable wireless connection but instead it perform like worst than the D-link modem.

D-link modem give me more stable connection. Dafuq?

Then i tried to use the D-link as client, n14uhp as repeater, the connection is incredibly bad, dc almost every 10 second.

The setting up is very smooth, updated the firmware without any problem
then the configuration is rather straight forward, din change anything.

Is it the router faulty?

Thanks in advance.

Try send to distributor.

Either scanart.com.my or advancenet.com.my

There is small fees will be charged, around RM20.

QUOTE(schmeichel7 @ Dec 23 2015, 04:57 PM)
Hi folks. After changing my unifi wifi router from dlink to ASUS RT-N12HP, now the remote desktop connection from my laptop to my PC in the same network doesn't work.

Any ideas how to fix this?

access this: http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

enter 3389 port num and test whether u got OPEN or CLOSED.

BTW u use modem with router only right? Any router u use? like AP/extender etc.

QUOTE(schmeichel7 @ Dec 23 2015, 09:52 PM)
I've been trying all day to enable port 3389 for Remote Desktop Connection using Port Forwarding on the ASUS router but it still fails..

Anyone out there who has successfully done this can share with me the steps?

Never heard of fibercon modem.

The fibercon modem is bridged mode or DHCP mode?

QUOTE(schmeichel7 @ Dec 23 2015, 10:15 PM)
Only the fibercon modem and this asus wifi router only. Let me try later, thanks for the info!

ok. run that test until u got OPEN message.

EDIT:

Sorry I didn't see clearly that u r on SAME NETWORK. If its same network, obviously port forward is NOT NEEDED.

U need to check the setting on the host PC. Like IP address.

QUOTE(schmeichel7 @ Dec 23 2015, 10:34 PM)
I mean the ONU Fiberhome modem. White colour as shown in the photo

use small pliers that can fit the golden connector, den twist to loosen the antenna.

QUOTE(GreenSamurai @ Dec 28 2015, 04:12 PM)
This is reverse. I can't loosen the antenna anymore because the port is loose.

Nope, its not..

Dual Band normally will contain "AC" word.

like Asus RT-AC55UHP.

QUOTE(specopsmarines @ Dec 31 2015, 12:28 PM)
My unifi has spiking issues when I'm gaming, I suspect its the distance and walls in between. The unifi router is at the front part downstairs floor of my house and my desktop is in the back part upstairs.

I found from https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3611812/all that RT-N12HP is the best for range that is not too expensive.
I will be using QoS to see if I can fix the spiking issue too. My question is, is RT-N12HP dual band? I cant find that info online even on official site.

UniFi and Streamyx different.

Streamyx can use ALL IN ONE modem router.

UniFi is separated modem, its called BTU (Broadband Termination Unit), that modem is ONLY from TM and can't be replaced, only Router is replaceable.

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Jan 6 2016, 02:04 PM)
thanks for the suggestions...
but i want only 1 modem router which can be used after i upgrade from 4 to 30 mbps...

Try change wireless channel, there is a lot wifi congestion now.

QUOTE(krip123 @ Jan 6 2016, 08:55 PM)
hi, i had a serious internet speed problem

the problem goes like this, after i upgraded my unifi from 10mbps to 30mbps, i am facing slow download speed (maximum 300kbps by browser downloader) and spiking when viewing online streaming video after switching to asus rt n12 d1 router..

before that, using only unifi 10mbps with old modem, my download speed can up to 1mbps and have no problem with online streaming video.

i had updated the asus firmware to latest 3.0.0.4.378_6975 and done factory reset but the problem still persisted. i am so frustrated now.

looking for your prompt reply. thanks
