Good day everyone, I've been facing a problem with my wifi connection for the past few weeks.

ASUS, please refer to this thread for my problem,

ASUS RT-N14UHP PROBLEM

I've gotten some help from the replies in that thread, and I've done everything I've been suggested to do,
but my problem still persists.

It has gotten slightly better, after doing everything I've been told to in that thread, but the problem still persists and it comes now and then, inconstantly.

I really hope to get this problem solved AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, it has been a long time and it is really frustrating.

I hope to get a reply soon, thank you!

Hi asus tech,

i have bought this RT-N66U at YM IT products & services in 23 june 2012, now the router no power and i try to send it back to danga city mall, but the company name is changed to meadow systems, and they say this router is not from them, and ask me to go service centre:

ASUS Authorised Service Centre
95, Jln Seri Impian 1, Tmn Impian Emas,81300 Skudai, Johor
All product series

after wait there around 30mins, they told me networking product is not under them, so, what should i do now? i really feel angry because of wasted my time and they ask me need to send back the router to KL myself.

Hi k77,

Sorry for the trouble you faced, you can send over to Active Lansing in Danga City Mall at Level 2. They will help you send the unit for warranty claim. Look for Ah Boy.

Do let me know if you still face any problem in the process.

Thank you

Hi Wayne_DareDevil,

This is maybe due to the different H/W version. Try the one from the link below.

So what about my older version 12HP?

I downloaded all from website, OLD and B1 and both also cannot flash.

What is the current status for OLD 12HP? EOL'ed? No more support?

Did you try out to change the setting in the iPhone/iPad instead?

Starting iOS 7, there is this Background App Refresh in Settings>General. Just double check the Whatsapp background app refresh is on and in the Background App Refresh that Whatsapp is included.

Hello ASUSmy, I still need to know if the RT-N18 officially & fully supports TM Unifi's phone and hypptv. Also, how long's the warranty & places to claim within kl. Thanks.

Edit: So I read around a bit and both unifi internet & hypptv works on the router. How abt the phone? Please confirm. Tq.

Hello, my Asus RT N66U router is having a problem, it seems that the unit can't be powered on and upon inspection, the power adapter indicator (the blue LED on the socket) didn't light up when connected. Do anyone/ASUS representative know where can I get the replacement for the power adapter, either original/non-original. Or is there any other method that I can use to test the router itself, 'cause I just want to know whether its the power adapter that is having problem or the router itself or both. Thanks.

RT-N66U uses a 19v adaptor rated at 1.58A which is about the same as most laptop AC adaptor provides.
Using another 19v adaptor to test the router is fine as long as the amp rating is the same or higher than the original adaptor provides.
But using another adaptor that provides lower or higher voltage is a definite no-no as it'll destroy the router.

Basic informations that you should look on another AC adaptor to test the router:
Same Voltage = Yes
Same Amp = Yes
Lower Voltage = No
Lower Amp = No
Higher Voltage = No
Higher Amp = Yes

You also have to make sure the charging tip & the polarity is the same.

Refer the image below to find out which polarity is the correct one for your RT-N66U.
I've already ticked the correct one for you.

Yup, just searched around and found out that typical laptop adaptor would suffice to power up the router but it seems that the charging tip is the problem as the RT-N66U uses uncommonly smaller tip (more common on netbook than typical laptop)

Hi andrekua2,

We will still support the RT-N12HP. If you are still unable to flash the firmware of the RT-N12HP, do pm me your serial number of the router and the current firmware you are using.

Thank you

Hi ezpoir,

May I ask, have you tried to set the Authentication Method to WPA-Auto-Personal and WPA Encryption to TKIP+AES?

Thank you

Hi KIntos,

Try update it to the latest firmware which is version 3.0.0.4.376.3602 and see the problem still persist or not.
