I’m using desktop with wireless, there few days my connection was unstable and with all connected devices after I use Rt-Ac88u .(Urgent) pls🙏🙏

Did you using any other routers to do as access points with the same wireless SSID with your main router? If yes, this issue is highly caused by the 2.4GHz interference. There has no other way to solve this issue unless you upgrade your desktop to 5GHz AC type wireless adapter. Besides that, 2.4GHz will bring a lot of interference problem becuase I was experienced this before. You should either switch to aimesh node if your routers are all the model of RT-AC68U and above models or switch off the 2.4GHz for your access point.

2.4GHz will bring a lot of interference problem especially when you want to make access points for more than 2 routers. Since I cannot guarantee the channel 1, 6 & 11 do not interference each other because my home got this issue on one of my router RT-AC55UHP. I was upgraded my living room to RT-AC86U, the old RT-AC55UHP was brought down to basement floor of my house.

The two RT-AC86U was switched to aimesh, so there got no issue on 2.4GHz. So now my problem is the one RT-AC55UHP only give me 10mbps download speed and 65mbps upload speed. My home unifi has 500mbps, usually I should get 400mbps download and 100mbps upload speed on wifi.

After I check through the router to find out what is the problem, I was noticed that, this issue is mainly caused by the 2.4GHz channel interference. Eventhough I was make sure that the aimesh and my access point has different channels. The aimesh has channel 11, and my AP has channel 1. The problem is still there, my wifi speed on that AP is really slow, only 10mbps.

So later I was found out the reason then immediately disable the 2.4GHz. My RT-AC55UHP was now left wireless 5GHz and I can get 490mbps on wifi speedtest. However, just to make sure don't go too far away from the router because 5GHz wifi range is short. Anyway, RT-AC55UHP is a high power long range 9dbi wireless router. When I take my phone then go into the toilet of my next room, I still able to load video in 1080p even my wireless signal was dropped down to half.

I'm having nightmare with aimesh

AC86U +
RP AC55 in node mode

It will only work for few minutes and then the nodes goes offline. Crazy...repeat reset and setup multiple times....same shit. Try putting it at diff places, near far from router same.

And worse off, when the node is turn on(power on) and offline, it actually distrub my connection to the main router. The whole network go hairwire. When I turn it off.....all is good again. My god..is ai mesh even working?????

Force RT-AC86U to run on channel 36 for 5Ghz.

Remove the RP-AC55 and add it again.

Yes, PRC models operate on limited bands.

Try changing region setting under the professional tab if available.

RP-AC55 doesn’t support higher channel ( 149 and above ) leading to this issues.

All Malaysia ASUS routers should support those lower 5Ghz channels.

phew.. manage to found a trick for it to work!!

somehow upgrading China Router from the automatic GUI will cause us to lose some of the functions.

So the trick is to manually download the firmware from china website, the release and md5 is diff, gave it a try...viola... region is back!!!!

Flash and then factory reset.

P/S : how to force mesh node to run on 2.4 instead of 5ghz??

AiMesh will auto decide based on the best signal.

But, for the case of RP-AC55, you need to fix the 5Ghz channel of your parent router to 36. Remove AiMesh node from GUI, reset the RP-AC55 with reset button just to be sure, and add it again for it to function properly.

Rebooting AiMesh Node

AUSUmy

Hi is there a way to reboot an AiMesh node using the webGUI or AsusRouter app?
Or is the only way is to power off and power on the AiMesh node?

I plan to put a AiMesh node in the ceiling so if I can reboot the node remotely would be great.

Asus Team, when will ASUS upgrade Let's Encrypt SSL cert manual verification scripts in RT-AC88U and other ASUS routers from ACME-v1 to ACME-v2 for our asuscomm.com domain since ACME-v1 server at Let's Encrypt has been deprecated?

It is not normal.

For an Asus router, the GUI page can be accessed via Wifi as well as ethernet.

i see, i suppose the setting "access from WAN" is not related to this wifi access?

this is weird, do you know of any other setting that might affect this GUI page access?

update: i managed to login using 192.168.1.1 through wifi, router.asus.com doesn't work though, but now at least i can assess the GUI page through wifi

Use ASUS Router app. The app has improved massively lately.

Already fixed in Merlin and ASUSWRT 81351 and above.

ASUSWRT 81351 is still not available for RT-AC88U publicly. If you are urgent, you can consider Merlin.

router.asus.com will only be redirected to the router firmware dashboard page if you are using DNS from the router.

If you changed your DNS of your wifi interface, it wouldn't redirect properly to the firmware dashboard.

hi all..

i have asus rt-ac86u and would like to make it work as an AP. I already setup it using quick setup mode to work as an AP. It will be connected to my router (mikrotik)

my question is ..the connection coming from the router LAN should be connected to LAN port or WAN port of the Asus?

thanks in advance
