yes those that are the size of 1 Terabyte are usually thicker (more than 9.5mm) and it won't fit. Anything below 1 Tera should be safe.

Almost all 1TB 2.5" HDDs released in the last year comes in a 9.5mm form. Some even comes in 7mm form. You don't have to worry.
