Need to unplug...switch other socket then can. Initially i tried a few sockets cannot.
So far what i read:
- need to use main outlet socket, cant use extension sockets(i used extension sockets)
- ipad mini charger too hot..shutdown itself as protective measure. ppl mentioned in air cond/ cool condition...can charge full up to 100%
- use high power Ipad charger no problem (big ipad)

Yes i can charge after unplug/plug but thats not how its suposed to work right ?
any battery drain issues ? or other issues? My update is downloaded, if i click update...will my data disappear? I come from fully android background...hehe tongue.gif this is my first iDevice. If its similar to android OTA updates...then i can just update without losing anything right?
*
so far it happens to me twice only in my very 1st week of usage after that no issue at all till now. been using it almost 1 mth

Updating the OS would not wipe out any data. It's similar to the OTA update for android.
Unlike Restore which will remove everything

I'm still hesitant in updating to 6.0.2 though as they are widespread reports on the battery drains

And the do not disturb after 10pm issue, I haven't notice it yet

Hi i did faced the same problem. it stucked at 89% all the time. once reboot and continue charging, it goes to 100%. 89% and 100% doesnt make many difference to me so i dont bother.
In fact, i got another problem that really matters me. My mini doesn't seem to be very sensitive to touch especially at the edge of the screen. I need to press for a few times in order for it to sense my touch. And so happened that most buttons (like back button or refresh button in chrome) are at the edge.
Does anyone face the same problem? Wonder if it is just me, or it's normal to all mini.
*
just change power outlet and see if it happens, mine no porba with the 100% and plug icon at the batt bar/meter

Why do you leave your iPad Mini charge overnight.... it's not recommended. Lucky it didn't blow up (which could have happen)

Putting a timer to cut-off after 4hours is more than sufficient.

i think it's safe lar :

Re: ipad mini not charging USB from PC*
Nov 30, 2012 6:34 AM (in response to MomUnit)

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-y...r-ipad-battery/

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy...et,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

Apple Explains New iPad's Continued Charging Beyond 100% Battery Level
Tuesday March 27, 2012 12:06 pm PDT by Eric Slivka
Among the many topics related to charging, battery, and heat issues with the new iPad, observers have noted that the device continues to charge for up to an hour after the point at which the iPad reports a charge level of 100%.

AllThingsD has now spoken with Apple's Michael Tchao about the phenomenon, with Tchao noting that it is simply an effect of the same trickle charging feature that has always been included in iOS devices.

So, here’s how things work: Apple does in fact display the iPad (and iPhone and iPod Touch) as 100 percent charged just before a device reaches a completely charged state. At that point, it will continue charging to 100 percent, then discharge a bit and charge back up to 100 percent, repeating that process until the device is unplugged.

Doing so allows devices to maintain an optimum charge, Apple VP Michael Tchao told AllThingsD today.

“That circuitry is designed so you can keep your device plugged in as long as you would like,” Tchao said. “It’s a great feature that’s always been in iOS.”

Tchao notes that users can expect 10-hour battery life on the new iPad regardless of when in that trickle charge/discharge cycle they unplug their device, and that Apple intentionally displays the battery level at 100% throughout that cycle so as to not confuse consumers who might otherwise think their device is not completing charging correctly.

Just bought mine at SenHeng yesterday. it's a little trick purchasing from them. Basically, the price of the iPad mini is exactly the same standard price sold at Machines. Only difference is that they will ask you to purchase together their own extended product warranty which cost around 200++. If you refuse, you may either choose a package of added accessories worth $200 (casing+screen protector). They won't allow you to buy the device only, although they try not to be direct about that.
The only reason why I chose SenHeng is because they have a lot of branches and their stocks are a little more than Machines or any other authorized Apple dealer. Another reason is because only SenHeng/SenQ that offers up to 24 months installment for selected CC (up to 36 month for RHB). Any other place like Machines and Switch stores only offers up to 12 months.
So, if you insist on SenHeng, what you can try is to request add-on for screen protector only. E.g. My iPad mini is 16gb wifi only model. The device price is $999, CC one time charge is $85 plus $20 for processing, and $109 for screen protector add-on package (there's two SP inside). Yes, it's a bloody expensive SP, but compare paying $109 to get an iPad mini for installments with other cash-only or paid-in-full transaction, I think it's a fair deal.

1 more thing, if u join member u get additional 1 yr warranty, for your info i bought my mini when it was launch in msia without any add ons( cuz i knw the branch boss /also earliest to get) biggrin.gif
