i think my internal sd card is faulty. yesterday i notice that the battery usage for "sdcard" is freaking high and sometimes when i turn on the screen, i can see that it is "preparing for sd card...".
so i did a factory reset and formatted the internal sd card. after that the "sdcard" battery usage is no longer there, however, sometimes when i unlock my phone, i still can see the "preparing for sd card..." notification. it only appears for a short few seconds. i am sure it is not the external sd card which causes the problem becoz yesterday before i did the factory reset, i unmount my external sd. and the battery usage for "sdcard" still keep increasing. another hardware problem? aih... |

QUOTE(tigerporc @ Jan 15 2013, 12:34 PM) 2 possible solutions: yes i suspecting media scanner as well.Photos and videos on sd card (both internal and external) are scanned by the stock Media Scanner, that could be one reason for the battery usage. i). Either create .nomedia files for folders you don't want to scan. (Scanned folders with photos will appear in Gallery and Videos Player will have video thumbnails). It will always run once in a while when you have new files loaded on to the sd card. ii) If rooted, then you can try to download Media Scanner apps from Google Play to control the media scanner process. i installed "rescan media root" to disable media scanning. lets see how. thanks. |

QUOTE(soonyeap @ Jan 15 2013, 04:30 PM) I have the exact same problem before. First started with sd card unexpectedly removed, then format sd card, then cant read by s3 and lappy. After a while s3 can read it again. Sent to sandisk dealer opposite time square, got it change 1 to 1 on the spot. No problem so far... just bring the card will do?the plastic packet thingy i already threw it... receipt also cant find it d i think.. |
