i just ota upgrade my phone into 4.1.2

has anyone here experienced sudden death to their s3? mine happened on wed. It just went off and wouldn't boot. only show boot screen. I try entering recovery mode, could not. But download mode was ok. I sent back to samsung straight. they told me might be software problem. will flash for me again.. but after waiting 45min. they told me they couldn't get to flash it either. Need to change board. So it had to stay over night.

Next day my phone was fixed. they changed new board for free... the same day, my friend s3 also died in a sudden and same symptoms. wouldn't boot...

My friend bought in Aug, mine bought in Sept. I think these batch has problem in eMMC...

you should feel happy you found the SDS issue when still got warranty
I also wish I kena SDS issue, if not later warranty over then only get SDS then need to pay a lot money already

after upgrade to 4.1.2 im feel relief. im guess im free from suden death problem. hope samsung include fix into this version

Does 4.1.2 has WiFi problem after upgrade?

My friend who used a Note 2 has problem with WiFi after upgraded to 4.1.2. Any WiFi network also cannot be connected. He has now downgraded back to 4.1.1 using PC Odin and all his data are wiped out too! Feel pity for him!

I'm pretty sure firmware ELLA did not fix the sudden death issue as I was on that firmware and custom siyah kernel.

Luckily Samsung did not find out about it. So I'm still covered by warranty.

not really, if you flash the ELLA stock using pc odin, then your bootloader will also change to ELLA
if you use mobile odin flash it, or use other custom rom base on ELLA then your bootloader is old version = will have sds issue

now my bootloader version is I9300XXALEF which got sds issue, waiting sds to come

no. it will not! although got warning mesej before want to proceed to install. i choose install all update, after finish. i check my sms. contact. application all remain same.
so.. i suggest for those who want to upgrade version to 1.4.2. use on air update because no need to backup data. assured by me!

no. there is no wifi problem. now im reply using s3 connecting to my home wifi.
