Hi guys,I am considering to have a Samsung note2. Was concern either the SME set vs AP set have any hardware or quality difference?never try AP phone before.

SME warranty are useless to me coz custom rom will pump in direct at the same day I brought the phone.
And AP set could save couple of dollars


Any phone player here experience the difference of quality between SME vs AP?

better go to sme... coz before this i hav used ap set..
the problem of ap is .. too fast faulty
when i send too ap shop.. very very very louzy service..
4 times i repair to ap shop.

1st- my phone always restart.. need to wait 2 weeks
2nd - my screen suddenly become dark.. idk why.
3rd - when i want too take back my phone at ap shop.. i try to restart and cant restart..
then i complain to the service.. they make their 'bodoh' face.. and agan wait for 2 weeks

so i sell my phone after get my phone... The End... haha

If you root or flash custom ROM, SME also useless, they wont giv warranty.

You may say unroot first before sent for warranty, but bro.........if your phone got problem, high possible you have no chance to unroot, can switch on the phone or not also a problem

if u choose AP, just beware off the battery

some shop already replace the batt with their "OEM" fake battery - so u see the batt kong after 3 months or so

otherwise, hardware is the same

software updating is slow cos u got a foreign handset.

Added on December 29, 2012, 4:46 pmso far i used samsung ace, s2, tab7.7 , and now galaxy nexus,all SME set with custom rom. all going very well.only tab 7.7 have screen issues once and repair with few hundred bugs in 3 days time. warranty not that important to me,but i did care the hardware quality & repair service(i don't mind paying a reasonable price)


but if AP set are having chips or any others unknow issue continually , that will be not worth to save little money from SME set

Make sure you are buying from a reputable seller. Ie not those who looks like they will close shop soon.

Also, ask exactly warranty period of each part of the phone. (LCD, speaker, camera, charger, battery......) Some might tell you one year but they won't say LCD totally no warranty.

My own experience. RM1100 burn after a year. From that on no more ap phone since.

i see... so AP sets mean it is phone set came from foreign country
software updating are not important since i am using custom room

u can choose ap set.

but u must know
1.warranty will be limited and a hassle.
2. it would theoretically be the same set but from other country
3. if u plan to buy make sure they get a new one, with the seal still intact. to show that it is not tampered.
4. check the phone thoroughly be4 buying.

well these are my experience buying ap phone.

I choose AP Note2, now using 4.1.2, its official ROM.........cos my set is france set which samsung already officially release 4.1.2 to france.
