hi arslow, are you making any customization of your stock LJ3 rom (from yr sig) by removing stuff ? I'm asking coz I have to revert to a stock rom (via deodex) to make my allshare dongle work. So would like to hear your experience customizing your rom (removing bloat etc).

I believe it depend which model of Note II you refer to. For those support LTE (4G), more than 50mbps also possible.

My data plan is capable of going up to 42mbps. According the the thread starter's specs it's only 21mbps. Which is it? rclxub.gif

And guys I'm talking about DC HSPA+ here. nothing to do with the LTE model.

All SME set is non-LTE. You have to buy an AP set for LTE version

I've never seen any of my phones reach above 4mbps on a speed test on Maxis. Even when I'm in KL next to their building

Telcos need to validate handsets they sell here, some kind of internal Sirim process. If they don't validate it and problems happen, the handset manufacturer gets blamed and/or the telco gets a bad rep for poor quality. So, I think Maxis has only verified those few models that they are offering LTE now. More to come will need to wait.

Mine can reach 11Mbps, not full bar.
On my modem can reach 21Mbps. smile.gif

Just to let you know Maxis' DC-HSPA+ hasn't reached 42Mbps yet. Though some areas like Cyberjaya can get more than 30Mbps. Rare case but it is there.
For areas within DC-HSPA+ coverage, if you are really lucky you can get 20Mbps and above. smile.gif
42Mbps is so far not achievable yet.

The more surprising thing is Maxis launched its LTE on New Year and supposedly can reach 65Mbps.

Final chapter in the Chronicles of The Allshare Dongle:

1. You need stock rom (can be rooted and deodexed)
2. You need Triangle Away to set counter to 0 and status to Official
3. You can flash a custom RECOVERY (Philztouch successful)
4. You CANNOT flash a custom kernel.

Looks like it detects AND 2 conditions:
Your counter is zero, and your kernel is stock.

I conjecture it has to do with securing the allshare transmission stream due to DRM...

StarCraft and Caesar III made playable on Android via Winulator

....here comes Winulator – an ambitious project that aims to assist classic games in getting along with touchscreens. In a nutshell, you're provided with a tool that converts Windows executable files into code that Android understands and an application to run that code with. Sounds awesome, doesn't it?...
