Hi Lowyat sifu, I'm currently connecting my xbox slim to my TV via HDMI cable and would also like to have the xbox sound output to my home theater system but i realised that the xbox slim audio output is hide-up when i used the HDMI cable. Any solution to this?

I brought a new cheap china HD AV connector and then hack the casing and bend the stuff so I can put in HDMI along with the connector

huh??? HTS at the back a lot HDMI in 1 ma, so your xbox connect to the HTS then the HTS connect to TV lo. eg if you connect to AV1 HDMI port so at the HTS there u just press AV1 so the video and audio will direct come from HTS, not xbox360. In short your HTS can become AV/HDMI hub. Unless you are using those cheap bluray hifi combo, those amp got no HDMI in, in that case, u cant do it. as my drawing said Connect everything to the Amp, so when ever u wanna change the source just tap the mode on your amp instead of everytime change source u have to change TV channel. This is very easy once u get the theory. This is what standard HTS do. Alternately, some HT system or High end PC Speaker do support toslink or optical, u need to buy this special cable can connect from xbox to HTS or high end PC speaker. So basically if u wan change souce eg. to DVD player, it will become leceh.. This post has been edited by Edison83: Dec 28 2012, 03:19 PM

You can use HDMI cable for video and optical cable for audio. Just make sure to select optical in option on your HTS. Thats what i use for my setup... Use the xbox360 rga cable but do not connect your rga to the tv. Use the optical port on the rga connector to connect to HTS. Then plug in your HDMI cable to the tv.
Hope this helps.
