Congrats on V8
Almost 4k for the DVD/Navigation system? A little too expensive I think.. what brand are those? I hope not those 'OEM' one since I'm pretty sure you can get those for under 2K. |

I'm collecting my Honda City tomorrow. Polished metal is the color.
Going to send it for tinting (opting for black, or grey) for all sides except for the back I will do a double layer (to reduce the glare from cars using high beam). I want to install the new grill and a central lock (either rpm or pedal lock), I wonder how much these cost? I decided to install modulo truck wing type spoiler. No, just the spoiler. But I'll plan to do the whole kit some day, the kit actually adds stability to the car so its not just for decoration. (from what I read at other Honda City forum. huhu)Bro, u installed full set modulo bodykits? QUOTE(j45on @ Dec 30 2012, 01:41 AM) Kajang Sato Accessories selling LockTech for RM320. Friendly price though. I am also planning to change the front grill only. How much does it cost? Price not bad for the LockTech, let us know how's the installation went.. not sure how much for the grill, probably 200 - 300? Anyway, have you guys read about people recording your alarm signal while waiting in shopping car park, only to repeat the signal to open your car to steal? Link: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2646860 Yea I saw that news on paper yesterday, but I think it only works for car that have 1 button to unlock/lock the car. City got 2 buttons to unlock/lock so when they record the frequencies to lock, they can't unlock.. unless they record your unlock frequencies and wait for you to come back some other day. Just my thought, not sure if this is really the case.. huhu. QUOTE(saitong09 @ Dec 30 2012, 10:56 AM) For better fuel economy, and cheaper tire as well. Can use 195/55/R15 tire too right? A bit more comfort I guess with the thicker tire? Huhu. Maybe doesn't look so nice. |

Congrats bro, we got the same colour but I didn't opt for the body kit. Just the wing type spoiler After 1st service..will change to K&N or Redline filter... I heard that the door visor is the main cause for wind noise when driving at speed above 120km/h. I got one installed as well but thinking of removing it because of it.. is it true? Planing to replace my filter with K&N as well, just waiting for the stock filter to get dirty enough for replacement. |

The visor does looks really cool, which is why I'm a bit hesitant to take it off.. Maybe should drive a bit slower so no wind noise. RM999.00 is full set with spoiler Its just that i chose the Ducktail type. If not you will get the normal design that you see on Most new City... So you pay RM999.00.....your car will look exactly like tyhe Modulo spec Nothing Removed.....3M tape + Screw just like what you see at the show room. If you want the bodykit give this guys a try. I'm not kidding..they really do things with persision. |

It will totally the same with the modulo by installing in the showroom since the one you install is PP and I heard people say Honda Modulo body kit also made from PP. The price really cheaper a lot, hoping to install it once I get my City but it's quite hard for me since I'm from Penang will have to travel down so far RM999.00 is full set with spoiler Its just that i chose the Ducktail type. So you pay RM999.00.....your car will look exactly like tyhe Modulo spec Nothing Removed.....3M tape + Screw just like what you see at the show room. If you want the bodykit give this guys a try. I'm not kidding..they really do things with persision. QUOTE(winterwish @ Dec 31 2012, 05:35 PM) That's a good price oh.. really tempted now. Haha. I think its the one stick on the side skirt on shown on the third photo in the Mudah link. Still considering what color to go for my City I already have the spoiler so price should be a bit less that RM999.. What's this one? "Modulo Aluminium Plate X 2pcs" Got any photo? |

QUOTE(JaysonGoh @ Jan 1 2013, 01:27 AM) It will totally the same with the modulo by installing in the showroom since the one you install is PP and I heard people say Honda Modulo body kit also made from PP. The price really cheaper a lot, hoping to install it once I get my City but it's quite hard for me since I'm from Penang will have to travel down so far I think its the one stick on the side skirt on shown on the third photo in the Mudah link. Still considering what color to go for my City Silver is nice too :S I agree that its hard to get good and reasonable bodykit installation...I was lucky to find them.... |

For fuel door cant open this might be the rubber thingie gone, so the metal door lid when push cannot touch the small rod. If not wrong, SC is selling RM40 for that rubber else you can DIY like below The rubber cap on the circled area Try to stick some tape or anything that can make it thicker for it to touch the rod on upper pic |

I don't remember how the old one sound but City road noise insulation is terrible so I think pretty much the same. Haha.Does anyone feel that our car is a bit heavy to accelerate? Otherwise, I wonder if it's because the car kicked in a gear lower than it should when we needed the boost? However the fact remains that the engine is considered small for the size it's enclosed in. Other than it, the car feels quite solid doing 130km/hr but what can you expect from a 1,500? This post has been edited by j45on: Jan 7 2013, 03:48 PM |

QUOTE(j45on @ Jan 8 2013, 05:34 PM) 195/185 is the width of the tire, wider is generally better for stability and handling but will also increase the fuel consumption a bit.55/50 is the thickness of the tire profile (the sidewall). thicker profile will make the care more comfortable but will also cause more body roll compared to a thin profile. Thin profile looks good (especially on 17" rim) but the car will be quite harsh and hard.. The default City (E) is 185/55/R16.. Basically for E-spec is using 6j rim which means the max we can go for width is 205. There is the 3% upsize rule where our current stock tyres size diameter do not EXCEED 3% if you're going for a bigger tyres. Because of the change in size, your speedometer readings will also change. However if you upgrade below the 3% rule, your speedo reading wont so different. 205/50/R16 our speedometer will only have a diff of 0.2% or 0.1mph faster. With this spec your speedometer readings will be 0.2% greater than indicated. When your speedo reads 30mph you will actually be doing 30.1mph 195/50/R16 our speedometer will have a diff of 1.4% or 0.4mph slower. With this spec your speedometer readings will be 1.4% lessor than indicated. When your speedo reads 30mph you will actually be doing 29.6mph 195/55/R16 our speedometer will have a diff of 1.8% or 0.5mph faster. With this spec your speedometer readings will be 1.8% greater than indicated. When your speedo reads 30mph you will actually be doing 30.5mph As we can see, the best optimum spec which is closest to our 185/55/R16 will be 205. If wanna change rim then 205/45/R17 is the best option... as only diff of 1.0% or 0.3mph faster. http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tyre-size-calculator |

There is the 3% upsize rule where our current stock tyres size diameter do not EXCEED 3% if you're going for a bigger tyres. Because of the change in size, your speedometer readings will also change. However if you upgrade below the 3% rule, your speedo reading wont so different. If you use 17" rim, doesn't it limit your turning radius, causing your tire to rub against the wall?205/50/R16 our speedometer will only have a diff of 0.2% or 0.1mph faster. If wanna change rim then 205/45/R17 is the best option... as only diff of 1.0% or 0.3mph faster. http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tyre-size-calculator I am too looking forward to getting a larger rim but did not think about it since that was what I was advised by Honda. |

It is caused by custom allocation size being more than 8k byte per unit. Higher than that and the player will not be able to read anything, too low and your songs might take too long to be indexed. |

Take stock S spec 15"rim for example, its a 5.5jj rim which means the max it can use is a 195 tyre, if use 205 then it will bulge out abit. Sure 15"rim can take 205 as long the Rim width is 6 to 7inch jj then no problem, my old Satria Gti also runs on a 205 with 15"rim.Any thought on 15" rim? Does it look weird with a 205 tire? I notice there's a maximum level for volume no matter how high you continue to increase it. If you continue to increase the volume from level 25 onward, there's not much difference from 35. Prevents user from destroying their speakers and their hearing I guess...

QUOTE(Dkck @ Jan 7 2013, 02:11 PM) My 3 years old city reaching 60k mileage soon. Planning to service it outside because honda SC was quite pricey. Since 60k services will be a major services, so your guy pls recommend me should i service by SC or outside? If outside any shop recommend around SEL/KL area? Thanks I would suggest go for outside for your car service. My brother own a Honda City, he always go back Honda for service. At one time, he back to hometown and repairing something from outside, the shop of the boss who is friend with my father and told my father know that when the car owner go back to center for service, the staff will assist to change the new items from old items even no much more damage or still can tahan, so the old items may sell by themself other purposed, but you need to pay higher service cost for your car service. Meantime, he has own a car - Audi, he just go back center and service for one time only, other than that, he just service by himself which is his own shop. He said quite same with center only, just the different is the cost that charge you higher due to items change. In the end of the time, you can save lots money and avoid unnecssary items changed from the car service, but just need to be make sure that you are friend with that particular shop of staff. This is just our mind of thinking and heard from shop of the boss said. But some said if the car still eligible with warranty then sure back to center, is up to you guy, just for sharing |

hello all, im using city facelift and already changing to 17" wheel 7jj front and 8jj rear with altenzo sport comforter tyre 205/45/17. first impression is, a little bit bumpy than before and yea, people say changing to 17 will sacrifice comfort. FC consumption not so noticeable for me, haha. but have a long braking distance than before due to heavier wheels and tyre, thinking to add some lower spring to minimise the bumpy case. just sharing my experience.

I'm drooling for some pictures, thanks for sharing. I knew other things would need to be upgraded to go with the 17". careful with the stop distance though. let's not wreck this beauty. a lot of user pointed out the sacrifice for comfort when converting to a thinner tire for 17" rim and upgrading the suspension would compensate things back. |

So, I dont really notice the different but seems my car is 2 years old with mileage of 75k KM, I am thinking of changing suspension. Any recommendation? |

Just want to share. Got my E Polished Metal on Oct which SA give me free full modulo bodykit+tinted+coil mat+door visor+steering lock. 1st thing i added to my ride is Lochtect brake lock for more security. Then bought Osram Night breaker plus since i drive a lot at night as realized stock osram bulbs are not really bright. Now reaching 5000km and just ordered K&N drop in air filter (some said to will make the car more responsive which i intend to drop it in after 5k km service). Btw just realized the power socket (cigarette socket) is not functioning after i tried to used car vacuum. Wait to check it during my 5k service.
Anyhow for 5k km service i just wondering whether to change to semi or fully synthetic engine oil. any suggestion? for RM40 eservice voucher. do we need to print on paper or just show my phone sms to SC? This post has been edited by komando67: Jan 21 2013, 02:54 PM |

Do a review on the K&N filter once you have it installed yea I think just stick with semi-syn since we need to service every 5k anyway and not 10k. |

Thanks for the feedback, I'll add that to my next purchase list as I frequently travel at night as well.Yeah, pretty sure Honda will say it will void your warranty if you change engine oil outside. Maybe try and ask them if you can bring in your own oil? Last time using Swift, certain service centre will allow it. Not sure about Honda policy. |

hi bro/sis,
want to know if you have changed your MF battery yet? I think to change mine already but currently undecided between the brands that I should choose (or does it matter?) 1. Panasonic (is this legit?) 2. Kochi (The shops say it's locally made) 3. Yokohama (the shops say it's blacklisted due to explosion) 4. any recommendation? Last time i surveyed the price is around 190 - 230 for Subang side. |

QUOTE(siaukia @ Jan 25 2013, 01:08 AM) hi bro/sis, I changed mine for Panasonic costed me RM160 only due to shop was closing permanently and did stock clearance.. Normal price would around RM200 .. I am not quite sure .. want to know if you have changed your MF battery yet? I think to change mine already but currently undecided between the brands that I should choose (or does it matter?) 1. Panasonic (is this legit?) 2. Kochi (The shops say it's locally made) 3. Yokohama (the shops say it's blacklisted due to explosion) 4. any recommendation? Last time i surveyed the price is around 190 - 230 for Subang side. by the way guys, anyone knows where can I change brake pad for NHC? The SC quoted me around RM700 for both, rear and front .. Seems a little overprice .. Any recommendation? I am in klang, cyberjaya. puchong, shah alam. Any in this area would be good. |

What after market brake pad brand better for our Honda City 5G? Change to OEM from Honda Stockist but performance are so disappointing. When hot with lot of braking, got steel rubbing sound, so damn loud. No sound if it cold. Make me feel so damn shy to brake. I know Pumatec 480 is good, but can't find any for our Honda City, if anyone can find it, please let me know. PM me or post it here. Looking STRICTLY for Pumatec 480 as Pumatec 500 ceramic is known for eating the disc rotor. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, currently driving the latest 5.5G City.
quite happy with all the driving , just lately i figured that when im travelling by North South highway, KL to Johor. when im doing 110-130km/h cruising, the car just wont go straight, there is a invisible force suddenly pull or drag your car to either right or left. Is there any problem? I try on normal highway i use to work, cruise at 110-130 as well, no problem. But this has happened so many times in NSE already. I strongly think that it is caused by the wind turbulences, everytime i pass by a car or a car pass by me by high speed, my car immediately feel unstable. Well, then i also try 150-160km/h on NSE, the invisible force comes again, this is really weird and i will check on my next visit to service. Any sifu here comment on this? Is this matter relates to any parts that related to Suspension? Bush? |

Or it is normal for honda city? maybe this car is belong to B segment and we are supposed to cruise at 100km/h
also, did some test on NSE. release my hand abit to test. If the aliignment is off, the car will slightly off direction by little. But for my case, the allignment is fine, the car go straight all the way, but all of sudden, it will go left or right by quite much in a sudden. |

QUOTE(skylinegtr34 @ Jan 31 2013, 11:33 AM) Hi all, currently driving the latest 5.5G City. Are you still using the stock tyre? The car is known to have the wobbly feeling at 120kmph especially if you drive around windy area or if you overtake a lorry or something huge. You can do several thing to help stabilise the car.quite happy with all the driving , just lately i figured that when im travelling by North South highway, KL to Johor. when im doing 110-130km/h cruising, the car just wont go straight, there is a invisible force suddenly pull or drag your car to either right or left. Is this matter relates to any parts that related to Suspension? Bush? 1. Change to wider tyre (195/50) or (205/45).. take note this will reduce comfort.. butt hurt a bit. Haha. 2. Install the modulo bodykit and spoiler 3. Install anti oll bar (not sure which bar will help the most, got many type I think, sifu please correct me) 4. Do Autofoam treatment to chassis (autofoam.net) I did 1, 2 (just spoiler) and 4.. I can feel the car is more stable now at high speed but your mileage may vary. Feel free to correct me, not an expert but just from my experience. |

wow bro! thanks for the info!!
Issit already well known for wobbly feeling at 120kmph? and not my suspension problem ya? I've slightly upgraded my tyre to 185-60-15 Potenza tyre. for S spec 15 inch. your recommendation - 195-50 , 205-45 is refer to 15 inch or 16 inch bro? if 15 inch , any reocmmendation? for number 4- just my personal opinion - City chasis is stiff enough, i guess the problem wont be the chasis stiffness , it should be something to deal with the Air Turbulences so aerokit might work. |

QUOTE(skylinegtr34 @ Jan 31 2013, 01:37 PM) wow bro! thanks for the info!! Quite well known I supposed.. got plenty of discussion about this in the previous v7 if I recall. Mostly because the stock tyre they provided is really tiny. I was referring to the 16", for 15" I'm not too sure. The modulo kit might work well I think, I read it in one of the city forum before. It does provide more stability so its not just for show. My previous ride is all hatchback (satria, neo, swift) so maybe I'm not used with the wobbly feeling from a sedan? Quite noticeable when I first got the car, but now not too much.. not sure maybe I'm used to it. Hahaha. QUOTE(skylinegtr34 @ Jan 31 2013, 01:40 PM) |

Try and keep the 'ECO' light on for as long as you can I suppose. Haha.. if you cruise at 120km/h - 130km/h, the 'ECO' light should light up most of the time.

ok i able to hit 19km/l on my way from kl to JB.
the most eco way to drive city for me would be rev up aggresively to 100-110km/h , then step lightest as u can. u will achieve 20-25km/L in this stage. so the speed will slowly drop due to gear5 got not much power to hold, but then it wont drop too fast, usually for me drop until 90-100 then i step and pump it up to 110 again because from what i found, if from 0-110km/h if you drive slowly to achieve 110km/h it actually get worse FC. QUOTE(sj0217 @ Feb 1 2013, 08:50 AM) city actally quite stable if without the wobbly effect.I think the chasis/suspension is stiff enough so its realy stable. but talk about the aerodynamic or smtg that cause the wobly effect, i have no idea why a 1200 kg get affected by wind so easily. next tyre will use 195 /60 and see whether still encounter this problem or not |

QUOTE(skylinegtr34 @ Feb 1 2013, 12:43 PM) thinking to change mines to 195/60 if im using comfort tyre and if performance tyre 195/55 S spec rim can fit max 195.. i saw few s spec NHC using 195/60, looks not much diff as compare to stock. 195/55 with hard sidewall is the best looking but if wan comfort, go for 195/60will there be any problem for S spec to use 195/60/15 ? will it too big for the rim ? anyone here with S spec 15 inch used 195/60 or 195/55 before? feedback pls |

Just changed to 205/50 Michelin PS3 and drove all the way from KL to Penang for a test.
Grip has improved, cornering capability has improved, even tyre noise has been softened, only thing that become worse is the fuel consumption. |

QUOTE(skylinegtr34 @ Feb 5 2013, 11:34 PM) I am interested too and from what I see, I think it does not void your car's warranty.I also found this accessory called hapticSTART (http://www.i-ets.com/index.php/menu02/0202) that allows you to go key-less for both door lock and starting your car's engine. It seems to allow you to do what Po-40 does but I am not sure if it also folds your side mirror. From the installation video available from their website (http://www.i-ets.com/index.php/menu02/0202/020201/02020103)*, it seems like the installation process will void your car's warranty. The company that manufactures the product is i-ETS and is located in Korea (http://www.i-ets.com/). I only manage to find the product selling from a Singapore website called WoW! Gadgets (http://www.wowgadgetshop.com/#!__hapticstart). *please use Firefox or IE to load the site as it requires the use of flash which Chrome do not have. If you notice, the Singapore website selling hapticSTART also sells the smartCARD accessory where hapticSTART also provides the same function. The first time I saw it, I was confused too. The only difference is the shape of the remote between this two system and smartCARD is only for your car's door lock system. The disadvantage that hapticSTART and smartCARD faces when compared to Po-40 is that Po-40 is a plug-and-play device and does not seem to void your car's warranty. Please correct me if I am wrong. hapticSTART seems darn cool though, but I guess right now I am more interested in getting the Po-40 until my warranty ends. If selling to direct buyer then might able to leverage the selling price with the addons you did earlier. If direct to used car seller, sure they take using market price with or without extra acc. They even encourage you to remove it and revert to stock if possible. |

Agree with what Xin mentioned above. But I don't think the price will be increased that much because of accessories/mod installed.Let's say if you have aftermarket rims installed when you sell your car, it doesn't mean that the buyer likes the rims too. If the buyer doesn't like, there's no point for him to buy the car with increased price. For me the main factor that effect a car value is how well you maintain the car (engine condition, paint condition, accident before or not, etc). |

Agree with u mentioned above, most of the buyer always look for those kind thing, the more important through, so that the buyer no need to concern about the repair |

Why Honda extend the interval from 5,000km to 10,000km, not 15,000km or 20,000km? As per stated in Shop Manual, the extension of service interval for new model is 10,000km. So does it mean that service interval of city is extended to 10k km? |

i hv write in to Honda Malaysia for the service interval issue already,
will post here once I get the answer! 1 thing to worry as well, Our city is using xW30 engine oil, their fully only has 0W20, 5W40 for fully (10k km) if we using 5W40 its gonna make our engine less power, but 0W20 sounds good ^^ Coz the fuel consumption sure improve a lot but im worry about 0W20 would not provide good enough protection to the engine |

Going for my first 1k service this week. Just want to reconfirm with you guys, will there be any oil change for the first service? Heard its inspection only but read in autoworld forum saying there should be an oil change to remove remaining debris from the new engine. Kinda confuse now.

Plus you got a lot of other extra stuff +turn indicator on side mirror +fog lamp +back seat got compartment below +bigger rim and tyre size +paddle shift +maybe got more, I forgot I rather spend the extra 5k to get the E spec, then to add bodykit, rim, audio etc etc to the S spec. |

Hi all,
So, I am going to make my remaining down payment tomorrow (500 deposit was made earlier in January). When I made my deposit, the offer was rm888 prosperity packet. The thing is, now at Honda website, it says the promotion for 2013 model is 1500+888 prosperity packet. Can i bring this matter tomorrow? I feel like i should get the 1500 as well. Im purchasing this car in Labuan, if it amkes any difference |

He simply replied, "Yes, but that is for the new civic only". Sigh. |

Basically installing OEM DVD GPS player would not void warranty as it is just plug and play, but installing a reverse camera would. Why? Because there is no plug and play socket made for a reserve camera, and the wire is usually connected from reverse lights, either a positive wire of left or right reverse light will have to peel/cut in order to made the connection (it supplies 12v power the camera whenever a reverse gear is engaged).the seller says that it wont void as its all Plug and play without cutting any wire.. |

I don't think they can duplicate the immobilizer. Refer here http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?showtopic=14087Cost at least RM200++. You might to give all the Honda SC a call to ask and confirm the cost. Luckily it's not key-less, otherwise can easily cost 1k. |

Just completed my 1k service at kah motor puchong. Went there 30 minutes before they close. Very suprising the inspection took less then 15 minutes.
They also topup the wiper water reservoir and do fluid level inspection. After passed 1k ride, I do realize my average km/l is getting increasing. Combine city+hwy is 14.4km/ l Quite impress. Even my sis kelisa also can only did 13 km/l. This post has been edited by ahfad: Feb 21 2013, 11:51 PM |

ahfad, for 1k service they didnt change the engine oil - so the FC should not be any diff.
anyway my FC increase significantly after 5000 service (first oil change) , now if i drive with " my own ECO Mode" I can easily reach 16km/h. If outstation highway , can reach 17km/h. average would be 14-15km/h tho. |

Mine is about 14-15km/l for 50% (highway) + 50% (city). Not bad for a car this 'heavy' haha. Too bad the fuel tank is tiny, so our range is only about 450 - 500km per tank most of the time.
Btw, I got this reply from Honda Malaysia facebook chat. Thought? I really don't know what to trust now. Hahaha. |

You can wrap the steering in leather if you want. But not easy to fit in the audio control. Huhu..Yeah after 5k service should be better a bit. QUOTE(vuilun @ Feb 27 2013, 01:08 PM) as my understanding..it should be NEW MODEL onwards..City FL 13 stil the same model..just year diff.. Oh okay, so the next Gen City then.. wonder when they will come out with a new City. I'm sure it will come with key-less start/entry, cruise control and a few more air bags.. |

I have a Honda City 2005 and just hit a pole with the left corner of my rear bumper.
I was quoted RM1500 at Tenaga Setia, PJ. Does anyone have a recommended workshop outside which can be cheaper and reasonable quality? |

Between the cruise control is for what use? Got service to wrap, search around in Mudah.my. Here's one 1 found that provide the servicehttp://www.mudah.my/prinzautoservices They will do it for you, not like those cover you can buy from accessories shop, this one is proper wrap so the finishing will be quite similar to the E-spec steering. The E-spec steering got the Audio Control unit integrated, it will probably cost a lot.. since it came with the air-bags as well. Try and ask your SA if this is possible to replace. Cruise control allow you to lift your foot from the pedal and it will maintain the speed you set until you cancel or you step on the brakes. Very useful for long highway drive, not so tiring. |

They should add that in for the E Spec and add a bit more to the price. |

Is there an aftermarket radio antenna for our car? There's a lot of noise when listening to the radio (tried with Fly, Hitz, Red, Mix .. all got noise)
I can still listen to the song fine but it does get a bit annoying after you're used with the clean output from the USB/CD. |

To solve this simply change the stock radio antenna to aftermarket or add an FM booster/amplifier to increase the range, something like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBaaB_rp-SA Most of the China aftermarket GPS/DVD doesn't have this issue because their unit comes with build in HD radio tuner. QUOTE(Rolland @ Mar 5 2013, 10:28 PM) It looks like a factory defect. Try to complain with SC regarding this issue, depending on which SC you going to, hope they will fix it for you, but some SC will just walk away from complains. The next day I bought my car about 3 years ago only I notice there was a small dent on my headunit, complaint to SC during my first service and they said the part is not under warranty as it is consider "wear and tear" part. So it is our responsibility to check everything before we sign the document, lesson learned. But not to worry too much, your problem seems more serious than me, most probably they will fix it for you, I guess they are looking for solutions from other SC. |

Turn on your music, the 6 high quality stock speakers that came with the car for a reason. The reason is also why you bought the car. I also suppose Honda did not invest too much on noise damping so savings would be invested into those speakers.Keep that RM800 in your pocket for something else, and turn on the music each time you drive. Just update your music list frequently, it's a waste if you spend that money like that distorting the design of the car with the wheel bracket like that. |

Joking aside, I don't see anything wrong with trying to improve the NVH of our car if you got the budget for it. Its a matter of priority. Some people might prefer to mod their ride with nicer rim, body kit etc, some just use the car stock standard for the rest of its life. I drove 160KM average on a daily basis so I rather improve the NVH of my ride than any cosmetic stuff for now. p/s - The 6 speaker does sound really good, so that really helps to reduce the tyre noise for a while |

Nope, I don't blast my music but I think the noise damping for Honda City is sufficient. You may improve it to your liking if you still find it noisy.

Bros & Siss...i had done my city 12 FL 5k serivce yesterda.
It cost me total Rm 186. Rm 120 for 4 litre semi-syn engine oil, Rm 32 for oil filter , Rm 3 for gasket and Rm 30 for labour...do it reasonable? because my place dont have Honda Service centre..im going a service dealer authorised by Honda... Beside, i have ask them give us the quotation for 10k and 15k service too...for 10k, it about the same like 5k service, however, 15k, they need change my ATF which total cost Rm 130 and Air filter RM 86....do you guys think is that reasonable? for ATF im ok, but the air filter, do we need change every 15k km? |

Beside, i have ask them give us the quotation for 10k and 15k service too...for 10k, it about the same like 5k service, however, 15k, they need change my ATF which total cost Rm 130 and Air filter RM 86....do you guys think is that reasonable? for ATF im ok, but the air filter, do we need change every 15k km? You can check the service booklet to see what exactly they have to change for each service, don't have to trust SC too much. 20k service is more expensive.. my car already 19k. QUOTE(winterwish @ Mar 8 2013, 12:13 PM) You can refer to his sales thread here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2451736 Thanks your info..due to my hometown do not have Honda service centre, (even showroom), so i am going a Honda Authrorised service centre to service my car.Your 5k is a little bit expensive compared to the price Honda put up on their website probably due to the semi-syn oil. But your labour charge is cheap! I think the price on the site is for mineral oil. Mine is almost the same.. around that range as well. You can check the service booklet to see what exactly they have to change for each service, don't have to trust SC too much. 20k service is more expensive.. my car already 19k. You sold your car recently? Regret to say, when i took my car, the SA already told me he will help me keep the service booklet, due to he need to help me certified chop at Honda every time i service my car at my hometown ( authorised service centre dont have Honday certified chop according to him)..so...i got no service booklet in my hand however, thank for your effort |

I cant bring my self to remove it.... every time i try to remove it, my heart feel pain... I remove both driver seat plastic cover and the door panel plastic immediately at Honda once i take my car. Other seats & panel plastic, remove once i reach home. Personally, i dont like smell and hear those sounds generate from those plastic.. just personal opinion, you bought the car is for enjoy and for your comfort, pointless if you keep the plastic there..one day in future u have to remove it also. hehehe.. |

actually it's not much difference if you're just a casual driver.
previously someone ask what should we use for the small compartment on the right side of the driver dashboard. I use it to place my phone holder. ![]() This post has been edited by j45on: Mar 16 2013, 03:37 PM |

Besides this, the foam does help to improve the car handling significantly. now i'm find my car is more fun to drive and i can take those steep corner with more confidence. Remember, the autofoam doesn't only reduces the NVH of your car. It also helps to stiffen your car chasis and it makes u feel lesser body roll when ur taking corners..overall i would said the money spent in KL Auto is worth every penny and do give Desmond a call and tell him what u want for your car and he'll suggest a good solution for u. i'm not advertising for Desmond here but just my honest comparison before and after i did the Auto Foam to my City. cheers.. |

Need advice.
My current mileage is about 3000km++ Let say Honda schedule my car second service (5000km) on 4/4/2013, Thursday. I don't want to take leave just to service car on 4/4/2013, Thursday. Can I do my car service on 6/4/2014? Which is 2 days later than what they had scheduled. Anyone know is there any threshold for service? Something like +- 1 week? Thanks. |

Still wondering what is that because it only happens occasionally. Bad news is my car being hit by one stupid driver! So unlucky now waiting to be repaired! |

Anyone encounter this? Need to find some place that used to service brake for our City. Dowan those generic mechanic, want to avoid SC also as it will take a long time and a lot of moolah. My next service will be somewhere in May. Don't want to risk my life as it is brake system.

From their site should only cost RM147.23 (this is probably using Mineral oil). But even with a fully-syn oil should not cost RM250. It's a minor service only right.. care to share what they charge you in the invoice? |

Dear all sifus
Just came back from Kedah, loaded with 5 adults. Reached at KL and odo shows 4k km completed. During journey from KL-Kedah there's lotsa hills. I kept my lane at left side and lots of lorries in front of me, during climbing on of the hill (dunno the hill name) i tried to overtake one off the lorry and suddenly my RPM jumped to 4k coz i floored down my fuel pedal. The main question. Will it affect my engine as well to my gearbox? Heard some info during 0-5k should maintain RPM below 3k. Plus not went for 5k service yet. Quite worry now |

The car handled corners much better. Way less body roll during fast cornering. |

TQ For the most Japanese car manufacturers, a new model to replace the existing model will be 5 years. 5th gen City was first introduced in end of year 2008, that's means the replacement model will be announced by Q3 2013 or early 2014.Try google it mostly says will be on this Q3 2013 at thailand motorshow.. need to be really careful with Honda SC now. I think because of the new alternating Free service, they lose a lot of income.
Btw, I'm considering to improve my City's NVH. Is this one a good starting point? http://www.groupon.my/deals/klang-valley-k..._94&a=715827975 |

I think because of the new alternating Free service, they lose a lot of income. The new alternating Free Service is not really alternating. They choose which interval got cheap labour cost then they give free. Its not Paid, Free, Paid, Free, Paid, Free.. more like Free, Paid, Paid, Free (cheap labour cost), Paid, Paid, Free (cheap oso), Paid.. Btw, I'm considering to improve my City's NVH. Is this one a good starting point? http://www.groupon.my/deals/klang-valley-k..._94&a=715827975 You're linking to a Pork Burger mate. Haha. QUOTE(joelriez @ Apr 4 2013, 01:54 PM) I use the cheapest Semi that they have. I would use Mineral if I could since the 5k service interval |

Thanks for sharing and coming back to the topic of, "I use the cheapest Semi that they have. I would use Mineral if I could since the 5k service interval", I like to get confirmation from all engine oil sifus as to whether in a SEALED NEW engine oil container (any brand be it mineral, semi-synthetic or fully synthetic) will there be ANY TRACES of dirty minute particles or very minute carbon black like dirt at the base of the container after pouring out the contents? Pls do share your findings. TQ. |

QUOTE(joelriez @ Apr 4 2013, 03:59 PM) I think the price is around Rm200 for our car, not sure current price. It will technically last forever if you keep cleaning the filter. They will always use fully by default, tell them to use the cheapest semi or slightly expensive semi, and remove anything extra (fuel cleaner, windscreen washer and all that crap)QUOTE(Geon82 @ Apr 4 2013, 04:07 PM) thank guys for your reply. They have to drill the holes since the spoiler is heavy and it needs the brake light wiring.Actually I love the wing type spoiler with brake light...however, I cant persuade myself to drill the hold.. end up..mine city installed the duck tail type one..just double tape Sacrifice must be made for the sake of beauty. |
