Bros....before I take my city to SC to check..want to ask u guys here did anyone experienced the driver side front brake...got sound when u depress hard? kind of emergency brake? it will come out a sound like something "kuk kuk kuk" seems like the brake pad cant really smoothly match with the disc brake....sigh...its very annoying and it not always come out the sound...I wonder when I take my car to SC to check, the sound not come out.
by the way, this sound mostly will come out every time I wash my car...I wondering is it the main cause? braking stil no problem..but just the sound so weird....

** I am pretty sure is not ABS System activated sound smile.gif

Had this before too, mostly in the morning, after wash or when didn't drive it for some time. Same with the rattling sound, lazy to complain since don't really know how to reproduce the sound =/ and it'll go after a while.

Just to confirm, is it 'kuk' one time when you press it or 'kuk kuk kuk' few times?

I think it had been somehow drop down or not align...What i did was i push the dash board up with my thumb at location beside where my left leg was place and the sound was gone and when i release it ...the sound came back again.
*
I'll try and have a look at this.. seems plausible.

I only did an emergency brake once before, and I can hear some sound.. pretty sure the ABS since I can feel the pedal vibrating. Can you record the sound, maybe easier to identify the cause?

not really too EMERGENCY brake la..hehe
is kind of u brake it more hard and make the car stop as soon as possible but not until emergency level.

hard to record due to the sound come out from outside, if I open window sure record wind sound...anyway..i try..

Since you mention it happens usually after you wash, why not wet your brake first then try. Maybe easier to record that way. If wetting the brake can reproduce the problem then its easier for SC to check.

Can you try and upload somewhere else? Can't download from 4shared for some reason..
195/50/R16 tire on mine.. look funny a bit since the lower 50 profile. Haha.

user posted image

Don't think you can use 205 with the stock rim, max is 195 only, if you want to go 205, need to find wider rim otherwise the tire will look like donut or might not even fit.

Pretty sure I read somewhere you need to use 205/45 since it might hit the fender when your turn the wheel.. this one I'm not so sure though.

Yoko C drive is fine, but if got budget go with Michelin. I heard its nicer and quieter.
Can you take photo of the mud flaps?

Pretty sure outside accessories shop can do.. go to SC sure they charge more. Huhu. Tried lelong/mudah/lyn or other online sellers?
It's a well known issue with the car.. terrible FM reception. Don't think SC can do anything, my old Swift is like this also.. maybe the head unit itself is tuned for other Asian market and not Malaysia?

You can probably try and change to a longer antenna.. or switch to a different double din head unit  tongue.gif

Not sure bout the FL City but pre FL looks ok with 50 profiles though. Below is with 205/50/R16

205 is possible but will protrude abit more out compared to the rims. Some regard this is 'rim' protector lol

ya its a 205 but that is not my ride, i pluck it from other owners. For me, never hit the fender before but i heard that if replaced to aftermarket 16" rims then it would hit the fender cuz the offset.

FC is about the same only previously i get about 400-450km per tank, after changed i get 380-440km per tanks also ...

Xin, I know who's silver city is that. If i'm thinking of the same owner, he no longer has it. haha.
Btw, I'm running on Yokohama A Drive R1. no issues.

Vuilun, two possibilities.
1) surface rust/wet brakes. usually after wash car or in the mornings. sound or surface rust will go away after some light stopping at a junction or two. usually no issues.
2) your brake discs are warped. This happens when the brake pad material sticks to the brake discs especially after hard braking and not letting them cool down before you park your car. So it causes the brake disc surface to be uneven. The cause of this is actually Honda OEM brake pads. If you wanna solve this problem, change new aftermarket pads and discs at the same time. Usually you can bring your own pads to SC and they will help u install. Or, install new discs at SC, and bring your car to workshop to change pads.

FYI SC procedure is to skim twice before allowing u to claim warranty. If you close to your SA, ask him straight help u claim warranty and change brake pads also.

My car had the same problem. without fail it will occur cause the temperature rating on the OEM pads are crap. So i resolved the whole matter by swapping out the OEM discs and pads. Replaced them with Brembo Max discs, and project U bestop pads. Total damage around RM700. But from that day till now, no issues at all. But I have this habit when I park my car, especially after driving fast, to touch my rims before i walk away so i know how hot my brakes are. usually it's warm to touch as in i can hold my finger there for a while.

So far, drove to SG a few times with 5 people in the car. ok la. cause overall, it's almost stock. If you change rim and put 205 then it will depend on the offset. if you still use +45 shouldn't hit. maybe +43 and below might.

Skylinegtr34
bro, if rusted, means damn deep. I know honda clear coat is thin. Depending how bad, might be able to touch up. I think some stockist sell the touch up paint. but, it won't look good to the finish. plus, not to scare u, but the rust can spread if untreated. depending on how the scratch is.
