QUOTE(kucingfight @ Oct 15 2013, 07:50 PM)
some comments after 2months driving:

a) yes, it's silent, even at times i'm not sure if i've actually started the engine
b) S spec, stock tire goodyear GT3 is relatively noisy, can't wait to change it when it's due
c) As i travel frequently back to my hometown, 20km/l is achievable. my latest drive got me 600km (brim -> low light fuel up) .So far, i find petronas suits my drive best. I'm a driver that practises ECO driving
d) sound proofing is quite good, like many, front passenger glove area has some rattling sound over certain bumps profile
e) AC is a weak on a hot day. even MAX setting coldness takes quite a while to cool down the entire cabin
f) fabric and door panels attracts alot of marks/stain
g) handbrake fitting/quality feels cheap and 'loose'. doesn't give you the impression of well fitted. am I the only one feeling it?
*
a) Agree even my friend also get shock wow why the engine so quiet when I start the engine
b) Already used to my 2nd Gen City tire so not really a problem just sometimes when speeding on highway will feel a little bit loud
c) Wow, your FC is really impressive. After 9 months of driving and been using fully synthetic engine 0W-20 still can't achieve 500km full tank. But my driving behavior sometimes could be aggressive especially when at highway tak boleh tahan people tailgate me tongue.gif
d) The sound proofing is ok for me acceptable as maybe had been used to old car bad sound proofing so this is quite a significant improve for me
e) AC is very good for me, my coldness setting hardly pass half of the circle. When parking under sun only few times open until half of the circle or a bit more so night impossible over half. Usually my air cond coldness setting is only on 3th-4th bar and fan speed on 1-2.
f) Agree especially the door panel always got marks/stain so I had kept a small piece of cloth inside the storage below the centre arm rest so that when always waiting on traffic light/jam I can use the small cloth to clean it with the free time sweat.gif
g) Mine handbrake is tight

He did mention its 90-100. And maybe s spec with smaller rims played a part too.
*
Haha, din't notice it sorry >< Between I'm on S spec too

QUOTE(kucingfight @ Oct 20 2013, 06:52 PM)
Yes, i'm on S specs. i did some hypermiling too...mine is calculated based on real refuel case (well almost accurate). how did u derive your figure?
*
I'm on s spec too, manage to use half a tank arrive at Selayang from Penang Bkt Mertajam include half way stop by Ipoh to have breakfast and the FC is 17.2km/l speed at between 100-120km/h but 110km/h most of the time. After that been travel around from Selayang to Kota Damansara and the next day to Pavillion total trip is 429.9km still got a RM10 left before fuel gauge light up so it's pretty impressive to me thumbup.gif

Just now when back from Selayang to Penang Bkt Mertajam pump RM50 petrol not even full driving at a speed of 80-110km/h with 100km/h most of the time and finally get a small improvement on FC which is 18.2km/l icon_rolleyes.gif Trip traveled 323.7km with the same around RM10 left so guess RM50 used to travel back and considering there is a lot uphill especially after Ipoh and most of the time FC is on 17.9km/l.

Conclusion very satisfied with my own S Spec Honda City and the FC feel like not much different with the Hybrid car when traveling on highway rclxms.gif

Didn't manage to play using my android phone. will try using iphone later at night.
*
I try both iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 before. iPhone 5 can just straight press play the music in the phone then the car speaker will play the music it's very user friendly, it can even play the sound/music of the apps when I'm using apps. But Galaxy S3 can't straight play the music from the phone maybe need configure on some settings hmm.gif

Tried Shell 95 on my city manage to get around 450km with 5 person loaded in the car from KL back to alor setar.

Tried Petronas 95 from alor setar back to KL with 3 person loaded and full of stuff (back of the car drwan down) inside the boot manage to get 450km also with 1/4 remaining

both journey cruising around 110-140 km/h and my FC showed 16.5l/km

the only problem i faced is when using shell 95 my engine knocking noice is not so significant and can feel the power while using petronas engine knocking noice is significant on 60-80km/h while above 120km/h the engine noice is reduce but underpower

anyone faced this problem? sad.gif

Your City is E spec with 16" rim? What knocking noise rclxub.gif How is it like?

fc seems to be good for constant crusing at 80-90km... managed to get 18.2km/l with slight jam and town driving. not yet done 1st service too.. :-)
*
Wow, good FC even in town also can get 18.2km/l. I only manage to get 18.2km/l when I'm cruising on highway

For my case and experience, shell has the worst performance. car juz feels sluggish, i'm sure that's not a placebo effect. My practice, i will try to empty the tank to the max before refilling each time to have a feel on the fuel. Petronas= best power, Petron = midrange power, Shell= worst. have not tried BP/caltex
nothing, major would be 40k
*
In my case I tried Shell and feel my car got the fastest response when using it and FC feel soso. I'm using BHP all the as I got the member card but my car get really slow response keep dragging like lazy to accelerate when using it. Until recently changed to Petronas and actually feel Petronas power and FC not bad, will observe longer to see if it suit my driving style tongue.gif

you maintain at 60-80 km/h all the time?

the highest i can get only 16l/km..
maybe speed does matter alot. blink.gif
*
Yaya within that range on highway, but after turn out highway on the normal road back with many traffic lights and turn it dropped a bit to around 19km/l. I think the secret to reduce fc is constantly cruising as mentioned by winterwish before

wow the highest i get is only 16.5km/l but maintain at 2k-2.k5 rpm on 110-140 km/h

dangerous to have a photo taking session while driving tongue.gif
*
Yes indeed, but I hardly get this kind of FC as last time my driving is quite a little bit aggressive tongue.gif

QUOTE(hhkangyong @ Oct 24 2013, 12:26 PM)
within that range (60-80 km/h) on highway is quite dangerous. 2 lanes or 3 lanes highway? if two ways, buses & lorries may reach your back easily and overtake you which i feel very endangers...

if 3 lanes, this sound better. Respect to you for the patient of driving at such speed and cruising for long distance trip.
*
From Penang Bridge is 3 lanes and until near Juru Auto City is 4 lanes, thanks for the remind will take note of it smile.gif

Another record for FC on my City, between did anyone know what's the beep sound after we turn the ignition switch to II/ON? Not the beep sound that warn you when you open the door but the one it usually beep 6 times then it stop before or after you start the engine. My 2cent thought it's something like engine checking so I only start the engine after the beep sound stop everytime blink.gif

Thanks for the link and clarification biggrin.gif
Maybe I need more advice for which kind of oil should I use.
The link you gave me, have Fully, Eco-Friendly, Mineral.
Semi is equal to Eco-Friendly?

Do anyone know how much is SM 0W-20(Fully-Synthetic)? Expensive than 5W40 (Fully-Synthetic)?
*
Honda fully synthetic engine oil got 2 types, 0W-20 is more on fuel efficiency while 5W40 is more on performance, I'm using 0W20 all the time on my City never try any others before but I feel the FC is quite good. The original price for 0W-20 is RM150.59 after 20% discount is RM120.47

ah, how is your driving style? are you doing below 100kmh most of time? i used 0W-20 once, not my liking.. above 100kmh a bit sluggish, seems lazy to move forward..  tongue.gif
u will notice the different after 3yrs.. biggrin.gif  semi-sync is good to protect and keep the engine clean.. 10-20 ringgit only maa..
*
In term of protecting the engine semi-sync is doing better than fully-sync? Actually my driving style sometimes could quite aggressive tongue.gif But recently changed to a more eco style due to want to see good FC the car can achieve, and yes doing below 100km/h most of the time in town and highway only around 100km/h-110km/h. 20,000km service soon since my car already 19,600km++ already, considering change to another full-sync 5W-40 as my car feel like under power sometimes not sure it's the engine oil problem or petrol problem and want to try see the difference big or not rclxub.gif

For me i will opt for semi since the oil change interval is only 5K but fully-synthetic oil also has its advantage such as the addictive mixed inside the oil to protect the internal part from friction i think this is the different la not very sure
what is cap FR wiper cover? the one which used to cover up the nut?

Yes, it's the one cover up our wiper nut and also which is hot to be stolen LOL

and reaching higher speeds is smoother and easier now, unlike previously like the engine is holding up
