I was accelerating my car today, some chemical smell starts to appear from the air condition. You guys have face this kind of smell before? Just got this car in 2012 December.

How to wrap the steering in leather? You mean buy from accessories shop? But actually I like the original full spec leather steering wheel is it possible to buy the original leather steering wheel for E spec and install to my normal S spec city? Between the cruise control is for what use?

anyone find the tyre is too noise when driving...been driving this car since july last yr....i find the noise unbearable...any one did any treatment to it

There's a better solution and it's free. Turn on your music, the 6 high quality stock speakers that came with the car for a reason. The reason is also why you bought the car. I also suppose Honda did not invest too much on noise damping so savings would be invested into those speakers.

Keep that RM800 in your pocket for something else, and turn on the music each time you drive. Just update your music list frequently, it's a waste if you spend that money like that distorting the design of the car with the wheel bracket like that.

Nope, I don't blast my music but I think the noise damping for Honda City is sufficient. You may improve it to your liking if you still find it noisy.

actually it's not much difference if you're just a casual driver.

previously someone ask what should we use for the small compartment on the right side of the driver dashboard. I use it to place my phone holder.

Hi guys,

New Honda city owner here.
Bought a 2010 Honda City E-spec ( Modulo kit ).

I find the pick up is dragging and the speed is so-so.

Any slight mods/accessories to improve car performance.

Ive add the air filter and change to high performance engine oil.

Thanks alot guys =)

It's a 1.5 engine bro. If you compare to a Myvi (even Fiesta for that matter) I think there's nothing much to complain given that its larger and has better sound system, proofing and comfort. Not to mention the pedal shift compensates a lot for that small engine, if you learn how to use it. I find it distasteful that many bought E spec and they rarely use the shifters.

On another note, how does it effect the long term condition of the car's gearbox when one frequently use low gear to compensate for brakes?

just did my 15km service, heres the breakdown:
1. labour 15km rm63
2. engine oil semi syntetic 5W30 (4L) (rm117.41 15%) rm99.80
3. washer drain 14mm (rm2.10 15%) rm1.79
4. oil filter catridge (rm30.68 15%) rm28.08
5. free car wash and vaccum

total is rm194.45 (with 6% service charge).

the big discrepancy is that their charges for parts is rm85+ in their website), where as here they're charging (item 2 to 4) in total about ~rm130.

I'm using Shell 95 now, if heavy traffic jam, I only able to get 320km +
If not heavy traffic jam + highway can get 350km +
btw how about Petron?? Is it will get better FC?
*
On Low usage, I did 500km with 1.8k-2.5k rpm @ 60-100km/hr, urban to highway. I'm trying to hit 600km @ 3 fuel pump RM55-64, total RM180-RM240 per month for 3-4 times visit to petrol station a month.

On high usage, I only manage 380-450km with 6 times a visit and refueling every 3-4 days @ RM300-360 per month.

I used to pump RM200 a month for viva, same distance @ high RPM and max speed of 150km/hr.

I'm using Shell 95 all these while and ditched Petronas because their head pump always broken, credit card terminal and trigger lock is often jumpy/faulty.

Hit average 400km @ RM50 for daily travel to Singapore. Average 140km/h in Malaysia and 70-110km/h in Singapore.  Esso all the way that never disappointed me... anyway, i though which brand to pump in just your own perspection?
*
I agree, i doubt the brands make any differences apart from services. they all must be refined to standards before it reaches the market.

Did my 20k service today for RM420+ only.

Removed all the optional item, using mineral engine oil, did my crossing, balancing and alignment outside for RM38 only. Air blow the air-condition air filter and the external workshop serviceman told me the its like new when they open it. By the way, the air condition filter cost RM48 only, might void your air-condition warranty though, but i think Honda is being too much in that case. At least the engine filter i let them change la.
