Today whatsapp damn weird. All these late notifications lol
*
Are you on WiFi all the way?

Long ago when I was using my Lumia 900, I don't have this kind of problem when on data but this problem exit during wifi connection.

Buying the app $0.99 made the notifications slightly faster, at least during that time. doh.gif

Regarding Whatsapp, I happened to lurk around WPcentral forum to read a thing or two about that app. There was suppose to be an update not long ago but it didn't came.

And Whatsapp notification (should) work on 3g/data line, no?

It seems Flipboard (best flipboard ever), Path and Vine will be coming to Windows Phone 8, but probably exclusive to Nokia first.

my usage of fb & skydrive photo upload is to make sure all photos are store and kept, only share selected pic to family and friends.

capture food and share on fb is stupid according to a doctor... i believe some already read the new somewhere earlier.  rclxub.gif
*
I think I fall into this category but I don't usually share it on my FB, I only endorse it with my gf and friends.

I blame food bloggers for doing so! laugh.gif

Hey guys, just saw this news on WPCentral and might want to share with you all why the Nokia's CEO Mr. Elop and his team chosed Windows Phone instead of Android.

Android and Nokia fans might wanna take some readings.

Here's why:
QUOTE
"I'm very happy with the decision we made," he said. "What we were worried about a couple of years ago was the very high risk that one hardware manufacturer could come to dominate Android. We had a suspicion of who it might be, because of the resources available, the vertical integration, and we were respectful of the fact that we were quite late in making that decision. Many others were in that space already.

Spent about 30 mins reading it and the comments and I have to say that it was a bet when Nokia went with WP. had it went for Android, it could leverage its companies image against Samsung and probably dominate the scene. However, it isn't really bleak for them, because it could still be a success story if Microsoft hurry their asses up and fix all the current problems.
*
Yes, I have to agree with you on MS's "shut up and deliver", at least post some updates on the WP Dev blog.

So the good browser for WP8 is still IE?
*
Speed of launching the browser? You bet! Else try the UC browser. icon_rolleyes.gif

I think the upcoming MAJOR updates will have to wait until 2014 Q1 probably thanks to Windows RT. Anyone plans to get the RT tablet instead of the Windows 8 tablet?

hi all ,, i am thinking to switching to window 8 lumia 925 .. from htc one .. one of my worries is the whatsapp problem ..as i know the app Whatsapp updated to v2.10.506.0 .. so now the notification is real time or still delay and the apps still crash? thanks in advance

Seeing you mentioned the "testing" on this platform (On other threads) seems to be your motivation behind the #switch, here's my POV:

Your main concern isn't Whatsapp only, you're entering a brand new platform unlike any other so please do expect lots of awesome stuff that you will be experiencing and lots of awful things too. Good luck on your decision! icon_idea.gif

WPCentral.com mentioned the Nokia and Whatsapp team are making weekly updates for the app recently so there're positive comments, hope that helps. thumbup.gif

How I wish they would just slap WinRT on Win Phone. That'd solve all the problems instantly, as in INSTANTLY.
*
I had the same thought, exactly. The concept posted few pages back are quite similar to RT anw.

Given that RT can do messaging and calls natively already, I don't see why not. WinRT is so much more advanced compared to WinPhone.

WindowsRT Lite on WP8.1? Now WP8 felt like RT prototype. doh.gif

With the recent restructure, lets hope they put more effort into WP. They are lucky to have Nokia who's still actively supporting the platform.
*
It will take time for them to adapt and settle down with the recent restructure. doh.gif

say Jon, since you're a developer IINM, any wonderful app idea that you're going to do for your future ten twenty? laugh.gif
