Are there 667Mhz RAM available at all for Core Duo? I heard the RAM they provide is 533 MHZ, when the Core Dou can run at 667MHz. If there is, roughly how much would it cost for a single 1GB 667MHz soDIMM RAM?

just a question
since core duo is running at 677 fsb the 533 memory would work on dividers rite?
or does the cpu reduce their fsb to match to ram speed thus lowering the clock rate

hmmm... can't answer that... it's the thing i'm worried that the cpu would reduce fsb to match the ram speed...

same...
333 x 5 = 1.66
266 x 5 = 1.33....
if it reduce the fsb ><

or 5:4
333 : 266

anyway timing for 533 ram is 4-4-4 while 677 ram is 5-5-5 >< it gets more confusing
tighter timing results in higher speed

yup, it would require a higher multiplier as you mention... but the core speed of the RAM does affect the performance doesn't it? If not, why people don't use the like 233 MHz RAM now anymore?

intel gains his speed with high fsb ram rather than tight timing

well if core duo runs at 667fsb, u hv to check intel/laptop manufacturer website whether their 945gm supports 667mhz ram

yes, the laptop definately supports 667MHz, it's even advertised as so, problem is, there are not 667MHz RAM modules sold around, as far as I have heard, that's why i'm asking if anyone knows any dealer selling, and what's the price...

but my question still not answered anyone with core duo laptops can answer
if u put 677 fsb processor with ddr2 533 ram(266mhz) does the laptop run in dividers or lowered clock rate

sigh, that sucks... too bad there isn't any 667Mhz RAM modules around... I saw that upgrade available in Dell, but it's quite expensive... Strange thing is if you up grade to 1 GB (single) RAM module you'll need to add RM700+, but if you upgrade 2 sticks of 1GB RAM module each, it'll only cost RM30+ more on top of the 1GB RAM price...
