QUOTE(ShaneNg @ Apr 17 2008, 07:16 PM)
Dear everyone, i am here to post my bad experience. Months ago, I brought my cat to the DBKL SPCA at AIR PANAS to spay.

I filled up the form and leaved her there, then an INDIAN GUY with SPEC and MUSTACHE asked is my cat vaccinated then i said NO.

He said no problem , come back in two hours and everything will be fine. Later, 1 & 1/2 hour i received a call said that my cat already died.

He explained, oh...maybe the cat is not vaccinated but he didnt advise me before that...got disease la...bla bla bla , gave so many reason but before that he was so confident that everything will be OK!!!

Then the doctor even worse....said that when he started the operation,he just cut a little bit and all the bloods coming out and the cat KEEP SHOUTING ??!!!( Isnt the cat should be already fainted ?)  But he didnt know what to do so just euthanize her and thats it.

Months later, i brought the other cat to another vet to do operation because he got internal wound in his cheek. After operation the cat was still sleeping. i asked the doctor and she said the cat should be anaesthetised untill the operation done even tough a spay operation.

Which mean the DBKL doctor was not fully anaesthetised my cat before the operation.

I know many pets owner walk in with the pet and come out happily with the pet safe, and maybe my cat is unlucky, but this explained how unprofessional the doctor is, using those cheap medicine and think that he could easily done the operation.

Hope this can be an advice for you THANKS.

I'm sorry for your lost.

I've experience neutering at the DBKL SPCA twice(different times) and both my cats we're fine after the procedure.

Both of them have been vaccinated atleast 1-2 weeks before neutering actually.

Both were half awake due to the aneasthesia when I bring them back home.

DBKL SPCA has done countless of neutering and spaying, they are actually more experienced in that area than any other vet.

I am not sure what was the actual cause for your cat's death, but it is highly advisable to vaccinate your pet before taking them for neutering/spaying unless it's a stray cat/dog.
