My Persona emits sound whenever I turn my steering. I suspect it comes from the front wheel(s). Could be brake pad problem since it's 2yr 8mth old d?
I wonder if I should go to a third party to fix it? All these while, I've been following the periodic service and my car is still under the three years of gearbox and engine extended warranty. Since I suspect the sound is not coming from those warranty components, I wonder if it will void the extended warranty. Any advice? notworthy.gif

nguu nguu nguuu sound or other similar whirring sound when turning kah?

when is the last time you change power steering fluid?

Sorry I did not describe it properly in my previous post. notworthy.gif It should be:
- Whirring sound; not too loud, need to wind down window to listen
- At first the sound was detected when I reverse my car; even though I did not turn the steering.
- Now even though going forward, slight turn will randomly trigger this sound

My mileage now is 38.4k km. I think the last time I change my power steering fluid was around 20k km. Probably a year ago.

Shall I take it to Proton to check? Or go for third party? haha
Thanks for your help! notworthy.gif

Go have the steering pump checked lo.

Turned out the front brake pad is already exhausted and the right-side metal holder is scratching the disc.
Changed a pair, RM150. Luckily the disc is not damaged. sweat.gif

The Rotor Disc is not expensive. RM 14x ~ Rm 15x for a pair. (not include workmanship)

How about the brake pads? RM150 is OK? I changed it at Proton Service Centre. The receipt did not mention any workmanship fee though.

if mintye is around Rm60-70 per side.
If bosch then need Rm100+ i think. but if Rm150 can get high performance pad edi.

Ah sorry for the confusion. Mine is RM150 for a pair (Left and Right). I guess it's a standard or lowest end version? hahaha.

One more thing! I noticed tables in my service booklet show that our cars only need to be serviced once every 10k km. Is that correct? I had been doing 5k km service.... doh.gif
