Each time? Expensive leh just to pump the tyres.  sweat.gif

RM10 for each tyres. That only happens when I change the tyres lah.

If you frequent check your tires pressure then no need pump nitrogen liau. Internet people claim tires pumped with nitrogen will have better FC due to:
Less corrosion on the inside and constant tire pressure.

And if you ask me, can't tell you the exact result since tyres already pumped with nitrogen when I first got the car.

Nitrogen cost RM20 for 4 tyres. Free subsequent refill. I pump nitrogen at tyres shop in Taman Maju Jaya. Not 100% nitrogen. Only 91 kpa on nitrogen machine.  The rest is is oxygen. Tyres pressure stay the same until 3 months. I noticed less bouncing compare to 100% oxygen.
*
Thanks for the information! Next time I can go mintak discount when I fill up.

Siao kah, paying RM40 for air. I also used nitrogen for a couple of years for my City but its free (a service my tyre mechanic offers if you buy and maintain tyres at their shop). Goes back every 3 month to pump FOC. If pay RM40 every 3 months or so, that will add up to RM160 yearly when its free for standard air pump. Not worth it. Too bad my tyre shop machine spoiled after a few years and don't bother replacing them.

Nitrogen although lessen air lose rate and supposedly lighter and whatever less corrosion generally serve no purpose for everyday driver like us except for convenient of saving a couple of trip to air pump. It works for racers as every seconds count with nitrogen supposedly light weighted thingy helping to improve whatever miniscule performance needed. What type of miniscule performance increase that we need....miliseconds...hah.

And what corrison lessening.....tyres tread gonna habis before any normal air "corrosion" takes place, so that point it totally mute. As for lighter during driving, yes, it does seems that way, the only true advantage I found but then again, if you want lighter, just pump slightly more air to your tyres, same effect albeit a bit harder and its free.

Pumping nitrogen means you have to go back to shop to check.....extra trip. Petrol station air pump ended up more convenient albeit more trips needed but you have to pump petrol, right?

For those that only pump nitrogen when change tyres.....either you pumped once and never pump air again, that means your tyres gonna kaput very soon OR you pumped nitrogen once then go pump normal air....do note nitrogen when mixed with normal air becomes......normal air. Meaning once its contaminated with normal air, nitrogen actually loses whatever advantage it got when it chain reacted back to normal air.

Thats my 2 cents on nitrogen based on my experience and cost calculation of 2 years of using it.

Well that's that I've thought so RM10 for a tire is just expensive but since last I change the tires were handle by my dad so he sponsored. Next change I should demand for free from them liau.

I may favor this over going to the tire shop every time when I need to pump air.

btw anyone know how is Sime Darby SC performing nowadays. That is the only thing that stop me from looking at Ford Focus...besides the tight legroom of rear seats.

US new Civic FL now makes Civic looks real good, prob have to wait a year or 2 before they arrive here..
*
Not sure about the SC but lately I've hearing a lot of complaints on Sime Darby and their car stocks.

Stocks not enough still giving customers' false hope and betting them for their patients. doh.gif

I rarely come in here and now it is V.XLIV??!?! Walau eh..... So banyak.

Anyways, recently i upgraded my B-line 2009 persona rear drums to rear.

Donor: Lancer ck4. Comes with trailing arm and the brake set.

Transplanted parts: Rotors, calipers, brake hoses and handbrake cables.

New parts replacement: A set of brake pads from Trestor Metallic Plus. And DIY sanding and respray the calipers and rotors to make it look new again.

Result: Braking is so much better (really a lot better). Now i have more confidence while driving fast.

*
I saw red a blog on this conversion before, seems like the rear drum break isn't reliable har?

Oooi.....the gearbox ATF service interval is 20K lar as indicated in PE service schedule in CoSE and SC. Either the booklet is wrong, outdated or you're following the non-severe category schedule that does not apply Malaysian driving condition especially rev kaki....
If want optimal it should be 10-15K but haiz....20K still ok. Remember the Spoon chief mechanic KEEP recommending changing ATF at EVERY service interval for OPTIMAL performance. Of course can use till 40K but I can bet long term wise it will be very bad for the gear box....but I doubt you will be keeping the car for long anyway. So by the time it kaput in 5 years, you will not be driving it anyway...

Oh btw for those uninformed, gearbox damage can be unnoticeable, ie, gear change not as smooth or even gradual decrease performance. Not necesarry spoil terus. I guess changing PE gearbox still affordable, I cannot imagine changing any CVT ones...
*
From 3rd to 4th gear, there's this "drag" sensation going on in the car, until I press the pedal harder, it only shifts up, it's that normal. unsure.gif
