Just a few questions concerning WIndows 7 Home Basic vs. Home Premium.

QUestion 1:
Is there any performance difference between WIndows 7 Home Basic versus WIndows 7 Home Premium??? Just a hearsay...someone mentioned WIndows 7 Basic is slightly lags behind Windows 7 Home Premium.

QUestion 2:
How to enable the FULL Windows Aero in WIndows 7 Basic? Any patches to "unlock" the FULL WIndows Aero in Windows Basic?

Question 3:
SInce WIndows 7 Home Basic limits the user to 8GB of RAM, is 8GB RAM sufficient for the foreseeable future?? Trying to future proof my laptop here.

Reason for asking: GOing to purchase a new Lenovo Y580 IdeaPad laptop -

Thanks alot....

P.S.: Please don't flame me for posting this on a WIndows 8 forum........

Answer 1:
the performance is based on your hardware, if its good, installing either one will not affect how fast it runs,etc.. its all about your hardware.

Answer 2:
Win7 Basic doesnt have the option to enable Aero, however there are tweaks/hacks you may try by googling

Answer 3:
4GB of RAM is already enough for a normal user. unless you are a programmer/web developer who requires multiple software programs running while

so if the laptop you want to buy has 8GB, its already more than enough for you.

Added on December 29, 2012, 10:03 pmHi all,

ANother question....which is totally unrelated to this.

This is concerning whether we can swap the license key for windows 7 home premium (32 Bits) for windows 7 home premium (64 Bits).

I have with me a license key for a WIndows 7 Home Premium (32 bits). The funny thing is the license key comes in a box with only 1 CD ----------> being Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit installation CD ONLY instead of 2 installation CDs (being both the 32 Bits and 64 Bits).

SOmeone, somewhere in the web universe mention that we can use the license key meant for a Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bits to activate a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bits.
