hi~!

it's like this :

i borrowed one of my friend my 30GB 5G ipod video... (it was a bad idea!)

after returning to me, i found out that the ipod has white screen (completely white!)...

i've tried resetting but it pops up the white screen again as if it wanna drain the battery...

then i went over to apple discussion desperately looking for a solution...

i've tried toggle the hold button, resetting and use select+play/pause...

few times already but still no luck...

then i left it overnight to drain the battery...

this morning i charged it using power adapter but right now, it won't even turned on!!!

reset also no use... help!!!!!

anyone has a solution other than sending it back to apple service centre...?

dont void ur warranty.

What did you friend say after returning to you ?

Did you ask your friend about the porblem ? I suggest you to claim warranty from Apple, if they charge you, ask your friend to pay for it.

kb2005 : i've asked my friend whether he did anything to it... the answer was no...



how dissappointing...

i've looked thru and found out that the version 1.1 updater could be the cause of white screen...

then i ask my friend whether he update it or not... no...

is there really no other way? coz i'm in jb... i dun have time to go all the way to kl...

go to apple centre......better not try anything funny that might void your warranty

i would suggest you to go to an apple centre. they might change a new ipod 30GB 5G for you.

IF U can't go to kl, you can always send it to a friend in Kl and ask d'fler to RMA for you.

yea, the Service HQ is only in Ang Mo Kio... it actually may be cheaper for you to take a bus there and back

as far as i've known, after reset, u should see the apple logo but mine went blank...

my ipod gila dy!!!!!!!

it wont boot up...even i plugged in the USB cable..

yesterday i planned to test out the battery life...thus been playing for about 12 hrs non-stop dy.

it drained out the battery..... now when i plugged in the USB cable to charge... it wont boot!

it keeps showing me the apple sign...then reboot again...can feel the harddisk ticking....

gonna send it back...

I don't think Apple will replace with a new iPod, most likely you will be given a refurbished iPod.

erm... box doesn't have date of purchase. I'm worried that your iPod may be out of warranty already.

do me a favour, go to Apple > Support and type in your serial number there in the box on the right, scroll down a little.

if your iPod is covered, then I can straight away RMA for you. If not covered... better if you just buy new earphones

I think that is the one bad thing in ipod video (HD storage) cos HD easy to get corrupt like our PC HD. Better go for nano

Apple headphones, now only available together with Apple iPod remote (RM179) for all iPod up to 4th Gen (not nano or video).

i think it is oem but gold plated..

those are the imitation ones, basically just looks alike

Oh ok, luckily i still have the iPod headphones with my 6GB mini then... Didn't know it is now so hard to get the h/phones as a separate item...

hey.. go to the Apple Center is Singapore. My friend had a problem with his Pod too, and they tried to fix it. They couldnt, and they replaced his scratched, ugly iPod U2 with a brand new one.

He was laughing all the way back to jb, and then he suddenly realised...

........all his songs were gone.

oops... sorrie.. din read the last post..

Hahaha, agree with u there ! Poor fellow, so happy at getting a new iPod to replace his broken-down one, only to forget that all his songs are gone... End up have to re-install all the songs back from the PC..

But at least our friend has a new unit lah!

Hahaha, thats good... I know what u mean... Whenever i'm with my gf, my iPod also disappears into a different world, together with the other gadgets and Clie... All of them are in a place called SILENT zone!

So when will u be sending your unit for repair? Next week?

Just connect your unit to the PC, update the songs and voila, the songs will then be transferred to the Pod...

i know it's an easy job but some songs i've already deleted from my computer....
