there are already students who sat for lwtr after finishing miat before this MTO approval whistling.gif just complete dca application form with your aproved work schedule and submit thru miat. i believe they still sticking to this process.

and as i said before, sure fire way to be LAME, join TAME program. u can choose from mas, airasia or transmile. expect competitions, of course.

ask more specific questions, a lot of people here are willing to help...like jabu rolleyes.gif

as per regulation, dca approved training school trainees are allowed to apply for lwtr at the end of 3rd year training program (miat dip is 3.5 years). previous students only sent their application just before they leave miat. as trainee, u have to apply thru the school to get the previlege.

i heard they even received foreign students now..

miat entry exam is just to test your english, IQ and a lil general knowledge. u must know the basic math n physics tho (esp. those related to force, lift, flight, etc). of course it's adjusted to SPM level. don't worry about it. u seem enthusiastic enough so it won't be a problem.

u will go thru lwtr just like others, there're two stages. first, written exam then oral exam. there're duration from your application to the day they call u for written exam n if u pass, to your next oral exam. the duration could be months. it's dca thing, i can't tell why it's that long. if u fail ur exam, u may re-sit following a further period of at least 3 months with additional work schedule.

any training school trainees should say it not THAT hard. just don't slack too much in class. it really help a lot. a lot of aviation veteran agree today generation are lucky coz we have training school around.

IF it's true what the Nilai college claims, EASA 66 blablabla, after u passed, u will get ur license after several years of working (for experience). how can someone who just read books can release an aircraft, right? anyway, u can convert to malaysian license with a simple malaysian air law exam. some of my friends are taking this course overseas, right, rafale? previously there are none in malaysia, nilai could be the first.

4 years experience is the 'manual' way, that's how the vets LAME did esp those in general aviation. this what i meant todays generation are lucky.

most people viewed easa standard as higher, therefore, better. malaysia will embrace it but only time will tell but the transition has started. local company that operate internationally have already move towards it (the airliners). as usual, this transition isn't that smooth. either way u choose, just stick to it till the end. or u will end up taking longer time.

just curious, why not TAME program, ingkien?

u can read the thread from the start. it has more answers than i'm willing to type tongue.gif

i don't think TSE need lwtr. but vacancy is really limited. and u are actually competing with those 'normal' engineers.

Ic.. Well.. still so many obstacles along my path hehe... btw, SPM result gona out soon. Afraid...
By the way.. how long is the time interval between the interview and the IQ test in MIAT?
coz im from east msia(swak), if the time interval is juz right in the middle or not too long, i scare its inconvenience for me and my fren, plus living in a hotel for tat long is realy costly

theres Miat Poly Tafe, but if you dont want colleges.

You can try for METC which is a MAS TAME program. But I doubt they have intakes now.

Dont think MAS is taking any TAME anymore, all MAS TAME now is from METC.
correct me if i'm wrong?

No point getting a degree. What u REALLY need is LWTR
That's if u REALLY just want to become an aircraft engineer
