2 different ways of becoming a LAE .
it's like 1 study in government school, another 1 study in private school.
but finally, both manage to get a job.

That is incorrect. Technical Service Engineers are graduate engineers without LWTR and OJT experience.

hi all,
it'has been a long time... the last post was on 31 dec 2010 and no one was talking about DCAM66 yet?

so, to EASA66 holder, rejoice! also to those degree holders. It's going to interesting to see how things unfolded.

Correct.
It would be beneficial if you're an SPM school leaver.
If you have a degree/diploma, you're be starting all over although MAS's minimum qualifications is a diploma with more than 2.7 CGPA. AA still SPM.

so i need a diploma to actually be able to get into the MAS aircraft maintenace training programme?

actually that was 2008 when MAS and AA still sponsoring public students to undergo the TAME program but now they seem to stop this...btw, FELDA and other state yayasan still continuing to fund their students for this

the minimum requirement for TAME is SPM so if u going self-sponsor, u can go to ATOs to enroll in their TAME program straight away

hi all,

sorry for not reading before posting. well it's long time since the last time i peek into LYN forum.

i'm not following what is being discussed now, but i do sure this thread is about LAE/LAME.

i took level one course with APR planning to jump into this field
reason: interest passion money

but i found it difficult to climb the ladder from level1.
(from observation most vacancy is for LAE not lvl1 mechanic / tech)
if my understanding is correct, there's TAME program which atleast could bring you closer to LAE.

anyone know if there's sponsor for TAME (from airlines / any yayasan/etc)
i would want to get some idea about pursuing tame since i will need to let go my current job. so need to plan carefully to feed my wife and daughter during the course.

really appreciate any info on this. TQ

well again, i'm posting before digging thies whole thread tongue.gif

my earlier post is about looking for TAME since i think that is another way/faster obtaining the licence. well since a bit hard for sponsorship since MAS also is about to stop it.

however i did mention i took the level1 course with APR.
i do plan to jump into this field and climb step by step up.

it's just so frustrating that it's hard to find the first job on this.
anyone could enlighten me where could i look for one?

**i need to first get a job in aviation to start climbing up the ladder ironically, it seems like first job doesn't exist haha
perhaps it's beyond my radar and i'm not aware of it.

any info is much appreciated. TQ happy.gif

The truth is the market of LAE is shrinking. Too high rate produce from training sch/coll but too low demand due to the economy.
