1.)DCA will be 2 subjects for initial exam, airframe/engine and air legislation

MCQ and essay for each paper
so total is 4 papers(2 mcqs and 2 essays)

2.)i dont think Nilai is an approved training skewl or under EASA 147 or shit, same thing goes to Miat if u started to enrolled in miat at the year of 2005.coz at the mid year of 2005 their AO was revoked by DCA..thanx to unikl..so practically if u read AN (not sure what issue) u will see the requirements to eligible u for the exam..IF u a TAME from MAS,AASIA, or APR(they have AO ok) u can sit for the exam after 4 years or less once u started the TAME program..as far as i know, there are no hours of working experience needed in details, as long as u submit the necessary schedule of inspection works and must be approved by foremen if ure a technician or departmental head of training if u a tame..which saying that prior to the exam date, u must work on real not dead or museum aircraft for 6 months in any of 2 years of your training and have a necessary experience by submitting a schedule of inspection works to DCA, provided ur training was supervised by DCA approved organisation or EASA part 145, thus ur workschedule is valid pertaining to ur experience working on the approved org.

3.)starting salary grad technician im not sure, it varies from other company to others, some gives more benefit but less money some more shit job but good money..it all depends on individual..

4.) minimum age for DCA exam is 20, for company approval is 21..thank god im still 22..n waiting for the result of my engine/airlegislation probly next month tongue.gif

we are here to help u and the others, as on my era(2-3 years ago) no one enlighten us on this matters, we ourselves discovered it though tongue.gif

its not practical test..after u graduate,u must gain at least 2 years of working experience in any airlince company and fill up all the log book practical work sheet.. after that u goin to sit for the EASA exam and proceed to B1 licence certifying staff..B1 is mechanical side...the good thing bout EASA is there will be no oral for you..if BCAR will cover with oral this will meke u more stress..salary aa ? hehe..not much la..for begining only approximately RM2k ++..this amount also work very hard ..example OT..work cow cow...unless u get ur licencing then jz u steady for example obtaining ur B1 licence.. salary much more higher..can reach more than RM5k ++ and above...depends on ur xperience and which company you are..

i never really condemned Miat as their approval was revoked or wahetever shit happen, as once Miat got their AO, and before Unikl came with the intervention of the system, everything in Miat was all fine, the instructor is very experienced if u kena the ex airforce ur luckyla, and some Miat breed instructor were also good, i mean in teaching basics la..but it all happened when Unikl fcuked the system and all, if not Miat is the only approved training school in SE asia.but i hv left Miat for good, and the journeys continue..

i was in MAS/MIAT programme, actually mas but training in Miat..i can say i hv no complains about the condition to live in miat, biasalha if u want to study n succeed u must endure the tortures..but when it comes to quality im the one amongst few others who always filed a complain to our mas trainee manager,n so on..happen to be my uncle is one of the mas training dept head last time..we complain this lectrure sux, money tak masok sampai half a month how to eat and stuff..so from 3.5 years duration of training, we have to go for only 2 years in Miat..the consequences are we have to study back BCAR chapters..u knoe why la kan..
all in all miat is a good place, but few people screwed it up and it all f***ed..i pity myself and miat students bcz of the system playing us around, but life must go on..
oh yeah, during my time the instructors are as par as the one who got the license and experienced, but now i hv no idea...they teach sumthing that u can read from the book and it is worthless la..haha..just survive for this time being mate..like we had to do

mate, if u hv no doubts bout money and all, why dont u go straight to AST in scotland, or CSE or Oxford training school in london?
compared to Miat, it is well establish training school in the uk and throughout the world
their basic exams for mcqs and essays are the models for DCA examination..and those papers are also toyol for DCA exam..
4 years duration or less in less than rm200k..exclude the accommodation and food stuff
they really trained u for ure money, as i got this from my LAEs who went there for examinations
it all depends

as i love heli since i was a kiddo, and my hometown is the hub for the biggest heli company in malaysia(now not really coz awan inspirasi took over their operation)
and good money well i think ive decided my path where to be in the next 2-3 years from now
once u got the licenses it is a passport for u to go wherever u wanna go..damn my mates are going for their oral next week..so envy them tongue.gif
