i wud go to miat if i were u, even if miat is a fortress surrounded by a jungle.. tongue.gif
the only thing is just that, if ure not really into the aircraft maintenance, u can choose either to become a lecturer-->theyll send u to oversea and u just name which country u wanna go, or there was once of Miat fren(coz i was Mas/miat trainee), he had a chance to do so, but he turned it down but he choosed his dream to be a pilot, so Mara fully sponsored his training at flying school at kelantan, forgot the name la, and once he passed n got his atpl,he have recieved offer later from MAS n they hired them..so miat is a good working prospect imo, the thing is just that u can see some babi hutan at the outer fence surronding miat, its kinda funny tho rclxms.gif

nilai they having a mechanical side B1 only ... there will be no avionics course for this moment..course fee compare to miat ,nilai is much more xpensive..i think is around RM40k ++...bcz last time i went there for enquiry bout the aircraft maintenance course..However, nilai now they constructing a new hangar bt not as big as miat hangar..their hangar only can fit in the twin otter type aircraft...may be it take sometimes to complete the hangar..bt tel u one thing is.miat privileges is better than other institute.they provide the mock up and unserviceable aircraft component more than other institute..more aircraft in the hangar even though its abandon...bt miat management suckz..so better think twice la..haha...

Well for one thing, the people who decide whether you're an LAE or not is the competent authority DCA and not MIAT. MIAT is just where they train the aviation workforce in general, the mechanics, technicians, and ultimately cultured some potential LAEs. POTENTIAL LAEs. Not guaranteed LAEs right after they graduated MIAT.

Being an LAE might sounds appealing as it is but believe me when say it is not easy, it will be hard, and that's the truth. I know a person who took the exams with DCA for 22 times (yes, 22 times!) before they finally handed him the license. Most people would have already given up after one or two failed attempts. And even if you do become one, it's going to be a very tough job.

You gotta have a really strong heart if you want to get involve in this business. Yes, the pay is good. But with great salary comes great responsibility. So you have to ask yourself, are you really up for it? Will you have the strength to see it thru to the end? From enrolling in a training school to becoming a type-rated LAE? If you think you do then by all means go for it. Aviation is an interesting field and i encourage you all to be a part of it.
