More than a month since I made FD to get this card - they lost my first application - apparently will be finished by this week finally.

When I applied for HSBC Premier card it only took a few days - this process has been really slow sad.gif

QUOTE(hye @ Jan 28 2013, 08:13 AM)
You want to compare a Premier level service and a normal card service. Really not comparable.
However, it's something common to all service industry in Malaysia. (Even coffee shops) Try comparing S Korea, you'll gasp with amazement. Even swiping your credit card and approving the transactions takes about 5 sec or less. (Some shops max within 2-3 seconds) Anything more is considered slow - bear in mind ... generally the folks here have a different mindset altogether. So it's not so simple as to expect the Malaysian hospitality and service industry to be able to change just like that.

This is the only other card I've applied to in Malaysia so didn't have anything else to compare it to in Malaysia.

Although after having some (limited) experience with Maybank for companies / M2E I wasn't overly suprised rclxms.gif

Lolz..

Then I should follow your footsteps and deposit a small amount to secure another CC from Mbb then.

Would 10k do for a 10k limit? I don't really need a huge limit anyways  laugh.gif
*
Far as I know you need to deposit as much as you want your limit to be 1:1, don't see why 10K would be an issue ..

I applied for this card and can't believe how fast I'm accumulating TPs. Nowadays my habit always to ask all merchandisers even though they do not display AMEX signs if they could accept my AMEX card.
*
Can't wait to get mine to collect some TPs

I redeemed quite a few RM50 Giant vouchers using HSBC card , which took RM12K spend to accumulate each time, if I had these cards all along I'd have gotten far more rewards cry.gif

Have any of you enrolled with Express Autopay in order to pay TNB/TM (Unifi) etc with Amex automatically in order to get 5x points on those transactions too?

Yes, been few years already. 5x TP.
Auto deduction.
No need waste time, money, parking, petrol, to goto counter to pay.
Or waste time, reminder, login to pay online.

Good to hear - just registered this to pay Unifi monthly , as they don't allow Amex payment through the online system.

Didn't register TNB though as I'm renting currently and don't want it to keep paying the bill after I move out thumbup.gif

since last month or is it 2 mths ago

Aha, just tried that and worked OK biggrin.gif

Was selecting wrong TM Account before, not the one specifically for Unifi doh.gif

Anyway, autopay will come in useful, no need to do it manually every month smile.gif

Read a article said that maybank accept pledge FD for their maybank 2 card. Anyone tried ? Wonder the KLCC maybank can process pledge FD to credit card or not.
*
Yes, I did this.

1:1 FD:CL (ie. 20k FD, 20k CL)

Had to pay RM10 stamping fee, too.

Now enjoying my 5% weekend AMEX cashback , and already collected over 25K TP brows.gif

Just put 10k on maybank and ask them for credit card?
*
You mean just put 10K into normal account?

For CC application they required FD from me (foreigner + no proof of income such as payslips)

For local maybe easier smile.gif

LOL @ MBB's customer service. May I know how long have you waited for the card to be delivered? I requested for an upgrade and I can see the new cards appearing in my M2U (already approved, I guess), just wondering how long would it take to deliver the new cards.
*
MBB customer service is a bit slow sometimes

I received the SMS "Your card is ready to collect" about 3 weeks after I actually collected my card already rclxms.gif

Has there been a change to Tesco vouchers through Treatspoints? I always thought before it was 10K point for RM50 and on the spot redemption - now it doesn't show on the spot redemption and 11K points?
