Do I have to call customer service everytime I fly abroad? I'm outside Malaysia and forgot to call customer service hahaha. Such a hassle to call everytime I fly, especially for people who always travel.

Not necessary. The first / few times you may want to call to be safe, rather than make international roaming calls from overseas in case the CC is blocked.

Once you've set a pattern, then you can test it out at certain countries, like SG or ASEAN countries or HK. i.e. don't inform bank before travel.
Once tested, then it'll always work.

However, for huge sums/expenses or certain countries which you have doubts, especially far away like US/Europe, it's always better to inform the bank. Of course, if you travel frequent there, and set a pattern, it is fine also.

All maybank cards validity is just for 1 year? So need to renew annually? My previous HSBC is valid for 3 years.

Well almost all shops in Lowyat charge additional when you pay using CC. It's like you finally got the cheapest price then in the end you really end up with no savings hahaha. In Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia, there's no such thing as additional charges when using CC to pay anything, so I'm quite surprised it is a "norm" in Malaysia.

Which card are they supposed to charge service tax of RM50, the AMEX or Mastercard/Visa? Because I saw a charge on my AMEX but it was also cancelled out becaue of payment, however I never paid or applied my treatpoints for it.

Wow, that's all I can say. You do realize that what you're doing is unethical, unprofessional, and against ANY company rules, right? You can't go running around taking away treatpoints for yourself. I'm an auditor, and I have had a lot of cases like this. Ok yes you are not stealing anything but the fact of the matter is, it's a big red flag.

We had a case like this about a year ago similar to this where the employee is taking the money and issuing a cheque instead and she was fired. Once the auditors come in to audit your company they can easily track the cash collections and it will not tally with the amounts because some are paid thru credit card. I tell you boy, stop it. You don't want your boss to find out you've been doing this.
