OT: Hmm... this M2u Savers sounds interesting. I already have Kawanku, and current account. Any charges/fees for the account every year ? like RM10 ?

I'm reading more info from MBB2u website now ... hmm.gif if the interest is higher than Kawanku Savings, I might as well park the money there.

There wasn't any charges/fees but the minimum amount you have to maintain the account is RM250. The interest rate is 2.1% if I'm don't remember wrongly and it's calculated based on daily rest. If you close the account within 3 or 6 months (couldn't remember) then there will be a penalty charges or something like that.

Another condition is that you must have a minimum amount of RM2000 in order to get the interest of 2.1%. If less than that then there wouldn't be any interest given unless you are opening the M2U Saver-i which it gives 1.x% interest if the amount is less than RM2000.
*
OT: Great. Rather than park at Kawanku or HSBC which earns nearly nothing for some cash liquidity.

Going to apply online NOW ...

ok, back to topic. sweat.gif

Hi guys, I'm planning to apply for MBB 2. Went to maybank branch but I still can't understand how to calculate the 8.88% thing. Anyone?
*
Take it as a discipline, to make full payment every month and you don't need to know the 8.88% whatever interest for minimum payment/advance cash/whatever.

If you can't discipline yourself, then better to go with debit card. Don't apply CC. Serious, you'll fall into debt trap and we don't want you to be.

Use CC for EPP / 0% installment is fine, but full installment payment every month is a must (discipline).

Over here, we try to advocate everyone to use CC positively and EARN from bank (even after paying RM50 GST).
We don't encourage people to be in debt and not able to pay, or just minimum / partial payment.

Try read first page , the first few postings, you might get some idea there.

I see I see. I have read genX blog but the maybank officer told me that the 8.88% is charged regardless of paying before or after due date. He told me it's 8.88 divided by 12 months. He also said it would rugi me if swipe for amounts less than rm50. That's why I'm confused now.
Maybe you can share an example, say I spend 1k on Amex, how much would I need to pay back before the due date? What would the statement look like?
Sorry for noob questions. It's my first time applying. Hehe.
*
QUOTE(JonnY @ Dec 28 2012, 04:45 PM)
You just have to remember that there won't be any interest charge if you make a full payment before the due date.

Let's say you swipe RM1k on 8 Dec.
Your statement date is 28 Dec and therefore, your due date will be on 18 Jan. (20 days interest free period)
If you make full payment of RM1k before 18 Jan then there won't be any charges. (we advocate everyone to make full payment of 1k. Not minimum RM50 or partial payment like RM800/500/200/etc)
If you make RM50 to the CC, then there will be 8.88% charges, therefore around RM7. (this is a no-no  shakehead.gif Must be discipline and have enough to pay, otherwise don't swipe that 1k in the first place)

Correct me if I'm wrong.
*
Correct, but I add-on my commets to above example... Z610ix6 take note of the date for the example.

After the red add-on above... if the 1k purchase can convert to 0% 12 months, means every month MUST pay (1000/12) = RM83.34. Nothing less. EVERY month, no skip. Otherwise, don't EPP / installment / Balance transfer.
icon_rolleyes.gif

Some will think, I'm not as rich as you guys lah, what lah. Then it is simple, use debit card.

As i said, it's a small matter smile.gif

Just wanted the MBB to complete a small collection of mine. If can't get, no issue also as I do have another few more.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Can always go for another bank that has no qualms in approving my card application  laugh.gif

Just saying that no reason is kinda lame to treat a long standing customer, that's all.

Have a nice day then  laugh.gif

Haha. It matters not really la.

If can't, nvm la. There's always another biggrin.gif

It's not like you can save 1000 bucks anyways. I can always go for another option that works as well  smile.gif

Try call up MBB CS to appeal and they might call you to check/re-submit any necessary docs. Or perhaps you have too many CC / loans / or payment delay / etc.

Otherwise, just move on with life, and retry again in 6 months. This MBB-2-Amex card is really the best currently, in my opinion.

Just to share:
My first CC to apply Citibank was also rejected, and immediate application to MBB was approved. No ill feelings, but later when Citibank offer me pre-approved CC via telephone, I declined it tongue.gif

Same with HSBC later after that, I applied CC at that time, using my salary slip, which matches my salary in the account every month. I was rejected. Few months later, they also send me pre-approved CC, I also declined it at that time tongue.gif

Just try appeal, otherwise, retry again in 6 months. In the meantime, move on with life icon_rolleyes.gif

Do I have to call customer service everytime I fly abroad? I'm outside Malaysia and forgot to call customer service hahaha. Such a hassle to call everytime I fly, especially for people who always travel.
*
Not necessary. The first / few times you may want to call to be safe, rather than make international roaming calls from overseas in case the CC is blocked.

Once you've set a pattern, then you can test it out at certain countries, like SG or ASEAN countries or HK. i.e. don't inform bank before travel.
Once tested, then it'll always work.

However, for huge sums/expenses or certain countries which you have doubts, especially far away like US/Europe, it's always better to inform the bank. Of course, if you travel frequent there, and set a pattern, it is fine also.

Hi there, I got three question :

a.) Maybankcard Centre or Maybank at KLCC open until what time ? Want to ask some credit card transaction feedback.

b.) How long is it to get your items that you redeem with the Treatpoint through online claims ?

c.) Has anyone success made a MBB credit card chargeback for online purchase such as ebay or lelong.com ? Time periods ?
Thanks !  notworthy.gif
*
a) here, let me G it 4u

b. Many many years ago, it takes about 3-4 weeks to deliver a set of kitchen pots to my home.

c. Done with MBB-2-Visa for lelong, dealwatch, etc. Compare to direct cash transfer, some will wait for 1-2 days for the CC to clear first before send out.

Next time I buy a ticket I will report it and see if anything interesting happens rclxms.gif

And for me as you have mentioned the first offense fine, 2nd offense fine amounts, I consider that as bullying due to small shops will 'feel' the fine much harder than big company. Hence no matter what they have to follow the rule, even though I think they pay higher % charges for the same CC service than big companies.
*
For AA case, I think it is quite subjective, as they put it under different title as "Convenience Fee", which is sort of an intangible service. As compared to let's say purchase something physical at shops, where you can see the list price, and then the 2-3% added into the invoice/receipts.

Apply Platinum but get Gold card... What a bad communication they have~
*
I guess they only approve your application up to Gold card level only. i.e. they don't qualify you for plat card.
Well, at least you start off with gold, rather than rejected. Build up your monthly prompt payment, get higher income, then in 1-2 years time, submit for upgrade to plat. icon_rolleyes.gif

Just asking for the TP points, does the system calculate the last 2 decimal means RMX.00?

I calculate not sure how they calculate.....
*
Yes, it does. If you buy RM10.50, TP will be 10.50 x 5 = 52.5 TP
However, whether it rounds up or down, is subjective. I have transactions at 0.5 round up to 1.0.
I have some transactions at 1.75 round down to 1.0

Call up CS, verify your details. Then ask them to check status and what it is.

Have any of you enrolled with Express Autopay in order to pay TNB/TM (Unifi) etc with Amex automatically in order to get 5x points on those transactions too?
*
Yes, been few years already. 5x TP.
Auto deduction.
No need waste time, money, parking, petrol, to goto counter to pay.
Or waste time, reminder, login to pay online.

Just wondering u guys pay your GST or redeem with TPs? Am hesitating whether to redeem TPs for GST or keep to redeem other gifts.
*
My rate is 200TP = RM1
10,000 TP = RM50 = GST

Unless you have something to spend in some shops (Parkson, Metro, Guardian, etc.) which exchange lower TP <10,000 for RM50, otherwise just redeem for GST.

QUOTE(monara @ Feb 27 2013, 10:21 PM)
regarding the gst, usually when will the charge it?
its been about 3 months after my annivessary.. yet no charged.
*
Don't worry too much on this, just let it be. When it comes, it will come. Better to concentrate on getting more rebates / % icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(monara @ Feb 27 2013, 10:26 PM)

You still can try call in CS and request for it. Some still allow.

actually it's almost the same..

considering u use 10000TP to redeem rm50 gst

if u use 9300TP to redeem rm50 parkson voucher, which itself accept amex, u lose 7.5% (5x TP and 5% weekends) of the rm50 = rm3.75 = 750 TP
so in total its 10,050 TP

trollol  laugh.gif

i always redeem GST  wink.gif
*
LOL ... me too always redeem GST. There is one year, they deduct 20k TP for me for 2x RM50 GST, cause I called the 2nd time to complain it is not deducted after few days, and they put in a separate new request tongue.gif

Mine should be coming soon.

No shortcut. Either goto branch / fax / email also can.
- fill up Increase Credit Limit Application Form (subject to approval)
- proof such as latest 3 months salary slip (hopefully with increment) or EA form to justify 2-3x CL on basic salary. Income tax submission form also can submit as proof.

may i know why amazon declined my amex card? i believe i still have the credit as i cleared my statement for this month. it said:

We're writing to let you know the payment for order has been declined. We're having trouble completing the payment for the above order. The issuing bank may have declined the charge if the name, expiration date, or ZIP Code you entered at Amazon.com does not exactly match the bank's information. Valid payment information must be received within 2 days, otherwise your order will be canceled.*

but i already keyed in the billing add everything same sad.gif
*
The backend banking transaction request maybe get rejected.
Try call MBB CS to ask them to "open" your CC for Amazon for XX days.

Same with me, I did some through Paypal. Sometimes if cannot go through (rejected), I called CS, open up, wait 5 minutes, send payment again and it goes through.
