duckhole, if you really really need to have the S3 now, I will go with ronnie's and snigapoe's combination:

1. redeem RM1,350 Harvey Norman cash vouchers or maybe Courts or Carrefour or whatever merchant that is convenient to you.
2. use it to get the S3 now by topping up the difference.
3. Of course purchase it on a Saturday or Sunday and get 5X TP PLUS 5% cash back  tongue.gif

The only set back is that the S3 price might have dropped by the time you reach 365K. but then again, maybe can also S4 for the same number of treats points  tongue.gif

Click here to read my article New Toshiba i5 for RM999 with Maybankard On The Spot Redemption and Enrich Miles Redemption
*
Why not redeem the cash voucher first and wait for another 100k treatpoints before redeem the cash voucher again to buy your S3 rather than waiting for 100k treatpoints before you redeem S3?

If I'm correct, the cash voucher is valid for 1 year.

QUOTE(BRY7 @ Dec 28 2012, 12:02 AM)
say you spend 10k a month on the CC, by placing that amount in MSA for 20 days it will only earn you around RM12.
if you can afford to spend 10k a month, what is RM12 to be honest?
*
Maybe for rich guy will take RM12 as nothing. But for us, that's quite a lot. I only earn around RM2.00 ++ which enable me to do interbank transfer for 2 times free.

Well, it's personal preference anyway.

Bro,

About the Maybank2u Saver Account, is it the one park under 'Maybank One Account Conversion'?

I try to go in, but the note kind of scare me. The note number 2 says: Once conversion is done, the account is not allowed to be convert back to Kawanku Account.

Am I going to the right place?

Thanks in advanced.
*
No. Please do not convert your account.

You can open new M2U Saver account by clicking the Apply Online > Choose Saving account.

Huh...Thanks for your advice! I almost click into it.... sweat.gif

So right after choosing the Maybank2u Savers, I can have the option of transfer in the amount right?

I will do it after 31 Dec, since is going to pay interest on 31 Dec.

Really appreciate your advice, else don't know what is going to happened!  notworthy.gif
*
Yeah u can transfer any amount anytime but the interest is daily rest. Means if you deposit RM5k for 1 day, it will count and pay you for 1 day interest.

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Dec 28 2012, 12:17 PM)
OT: Hmm... this M2u Savers sounds interesting. I already have Kawanku, and current account. Any charges/fees for the account every year ? like RM10 ?

I'm reading more info from MBB2u website now ...  hmm.gif  if the interest is higher than Kawanku Savings, I might as well park the money there.
*
There wasn't any charges/fees but the minimum amount you have to maintain the account is RM250. The interest rate is 2.1% if I'm don't remember wrongly and it's calculated based on daily rest. If you close the account within 3 or 6 months (couldn't remember) then there will be a penalty charges or something like that.

Another condition is that you must have a minimum amount of RM2000 in order to get the interest of 2.1%. If less than that then there wouldn't be any interest given unless you are opening the M2U Saver-i which it gives 0.4% interest if the amount is less than RM2000.

Sorry, where is this "apply online" located at? I search through the page but can't see it. I must be blind. rclxub.gif

It's at the HOME tab.

Excellent, thanks for the guidance! Just opened one. biggrin.gif

How's the daily interest is calculated?

I save more so can spend more on Maybankard2Card. biggrin.gif

Added on December 28, 2012, 12:46 pmAbout the penalty for closing the account. This is the clause:
A service charge of RM20.00 will be imposed if the Maybank2u Savers account is closed within three (3) months from the account activation date
*
I'm not so sure how the daily rest is calculated. sweat.gif

QUOTE(dannyw @ Dec 28 2012, 01:48 PM)
It seems can operate exactly like normal saving account with ATM, can transfer money & etc without extra charge, right?

So best practice should be, when salary in, transfer all the money to Saver account (since can withdraw from ATM), later use it to pay bills & credit card etc!

So can we leave our saving account almost empty or minimum, and transfer all to Saver account?  hmm.gif

In term of customer is really benefit to us, but in term of Bank, why they do so? I can't see the business point of view?
(Sorry, I have no knowledge on this area, that's why asking the opinion here)
*
Yeah. No extra charge for transfer money between own account and other MBB account but for IBG they charge RM2 for the saver whereas normal saving account charge RM0.50 for first 2 transaction.

I always transfer all my salary to the saver and left RM10 in my saving account. Then transfer back to saving account when my M2U saver account is less than RM2k. laugh.gif

I think the bank still earning from there just like how they earn through the fix deposit. My 2 cents. tongue.gif

Sorry guys, allow me to OT for the last time. So, it has a set of number, I presume that's my saver bank account.

Can I use that for my salary purpose? I can always advise my payroll vendor to change my bank account. I'm in HR myself. sweat.gif
*
I think that wouldn't be a problem because anyone can deposit to the M2U saver bank account like normal saving account.

Yes. I'm still thinking whether I should close my current M2U Saver account since it's been more than 6 months from the time I open it and open saver-i account. After 1 months I open saver then came out the saver-i account package. Not sure if it is allowed or not. rclxub.gif

You should try to open the Saver-i, see it allow for both or not?

If not, then you can just close the Saver and apply Saver-i, since you have pass the rules & regulation.

Reason of choosing Saver-i is that due to less than 2k but still want to earn the interest? or any better benefit?
*
No other benefit.

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Dec 28 2012, 03:56 PM)
Only 0.4% for balance below 2k

CIMB Air Asia gives 1.2% for balance below 2k
*
Well, I can maintain 1 account for more than RM2k for half month which I think the interest will be higher than CIMB. I don't want to make IBG to CIMB just to earn that 1.2%. sweat.gif

I see I see. I have read genX blog but the maybank officer told me that the 8.88% is charged regardless of paying before or after due date. He told me it's 8.88 divided by 12 months. He also said it would rugi me if swipe for amounts less than rm50. That's why I'm confused now.
Maybe you can share an example, say I spend 1k on Amex, how much would I need to pay back before the due date? What would the statement look like?
Sorry for noob questions. It's my first time applying. Hehe.
*
You just have to remember that there won't be any interest charge if you make a full payment before the due date.

Let's say you swipe RM1k on 8 Dec.
Your statement date is 28 Dec and therefore, your due date will be on 18 Jan.
If you make full payment of RM1k before 18 Jan then there won't be any charges.
If you make RM50 to the CC, then there will be 8.88% charges, therefore around RM7.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Try call up MBB CS to appeal and they might call you to check/re-submit any necessary docs. Or perhaps you have too many CC / loans / or payment delay / etc.

Otherwise, just move on with life, and retry again in 6 months. This MBB-2-Amex card is really the best currently, in my opinion.

Just to share:
My first CC to apply Citibank was also rejected, and immediate application to MBB was approved. No ill feelings, but later when Citibank offer me pre-approved CC via telephone, I declined it  tongue.gif

Same with HSBC later after that, I applied CC at that time, using my salary slip, which matches my salary in the account every month. I was rejected. Few months later, they also send me pre-approved CC, I also declined it at that time  tongue.gif

Just try appeal, otherwise, retry again in 6 months. In the meantime, move on with life  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
I also tried to apply for UOB CC 2 or 3 times when I'm trying to get my first CC but rejected. Apply for MBB 3 times only got approved through agent (2 times apply through bank). Last month UOB called me to offer me Platinum CC blink.gif but I rejected. biggrin.gif

dear all, just wanna ask, lets say my statement date is on the 12th, the amount in mb2u should be reflected on the 13th right? mine is on the 12th, and it's already 15th, yet the amount is not resetted... still carrying forward.. any idea how many days after only they will reflect the amount of the previous month?
*
The amount in outstanding balance won't be reset until you pay the full amount.

There are Outstanding balance and Statement balance under the M2U. The outstanding balance will reduce once you make payment while the statement balance will be updated on the next statement date (i.e. 12th Feb).

jonny, but my statement balance is last month's statement balance... haven't update with this month's balance.... how many days after statement date only will they update the statement balance?
*
Normally 2 days it will update. You can check your statement online. If the statement online is available but the statement balance not update, you might want to call CS to clarify.

My statement balance will update the next day. For example, my statement date is 28th and my statement balance will be update on 29th every month.
