I think I am going to buy a [Intel equivalent PowerMac] to dual boot. Can get the best in both worlds.

a G5....? laugh.gif laugh.gif tongue.gif

no offence dude, but the G5 is a PowerPC architecture, not x86, you can't run Windows on it..... you want an Intel PowerMac, wait till August....

My mistake that didnt write properly, should write clearer. I meant G5 Intel Powermac since there is no name for it.

you're still wrong here.... G5 is native to IBM PowerPC...., on Intel platform, there's no such thing as G5... nor a G6.... tongue.gif

Ok ok, what ever you all want to call it. Just let me have a name for it, I am not too particular in this.

I am just trying to say Intel equivalent G5 powermac, or anyone kind to explain to Eithanius or Wei.

Here are some of the facts :-

1. There is no native graphics card drive for ATI Readon [so you can't play games yet]

2. It seems that there are some issues with the battery [ weird...]

3. You still need OSX to boot Windows XP [oh yeah]

Of course the good news , is that its in work in progress...So , i dont see any good reasons running XP on a Mac...Hopefully those guys over at WINE and Darwine find a way to run Windows Games on top of OSX..Then I would be even happier..[Intel macs , of course]..At least I dont have to boot to Windows

P.S - I am not using an Intel Mac

I don't know why they bother, since you'll be able to install Windows Vista on a mac anyways...

yes it has.... G6 is based on IBM Power5, and Power7 is already slated for development....

Vista....? i don't think so.... Intel's logic board for Mac supports EFI, while Microsoft recently announced that Vista will not support it.... they're sticking back to BIOS.....

we have someone in the myMUG who demonstrated dual-boot on his Acer Celeron 1.3.

So... basically, he's running Mac OS X on a PC ... AND running Windows XP on a different partition.

Yeah, doing the same.. it is quite easy actually, the setup process is even easier than setting up XP from scratch.
