Guys, anyone who is seasoned with bukit tabur? I plan to go this long weekend, but the dying rate scares me..
*
I just been there couple weeks back for the first time.
It's not that scary. As long as you stay cautious, you'll do fine.
But please don't go during rainy day and also make sure the sky is bright enough to provide a good vision.

The view is very nice. If given the chance, I would like to go again.

a lot of people hike on the weekend? I don't have anyone to accompany me haha..was thinking of just joining the crowd

Not to say a lot but during that day when I hike, we came across couple of group.
Throughout the whole journey, I would say there were about 20 hikers hiking on that day.

do you know how to get the access permit? I have vague information from the internet..
*
Visit the Forestry Department (have to be the one at Cheras, the entrance is near to the Petronas petrol station) & provide your name and IC then pay a fee of RM 5 per person. Piece of advice, call them to make sure their "Pengetua" is around because the permit will need to have his/her signature on it. The last time I did, I made a blind trip because he/she wasn't around.
Last but not least, I felt that it's a waste of time to apply for the permit because during my trip at Tabur, I didn't come across any ranger at all, nobody request to have a look at my permit.

if I get my info right, the distance between the forestry dept and bukit tabur is 30km away. That's very far away. What time is their office hour? Open on weekend? Can I apply during the weekdays?..

Their address and contact:
District Forest Office,
Selangor Tengah
(En. Ag Shaffie B.Ag Ahmadni) Selangor Tengah,
Km 11 (7), Jalan Cheras,
43200 Cheras, Kajang
Contact: 03-90752885

No, only on weekday, office hour is somewhere around 8.30am - 4.30am and there is a typical lunch break between 1pm - 2pm.

Here is the exact location.

can I get permit for a group of ppl while I'm the only one there in the office? What time is it that you usually start you hike? Some said we can bypass the ranger if we go earlier since they start work much later.
*
Yes, you can.
We start at 8am that day.
