Hi All,

I am planning to do the kinabalu climb in end of jan 2016 (in less than one month!!).

I am overweight (almost obese), but I like hiking ; been to small hills i.e.broga, saga, gasing and waterfalls for weekend morning hiking. Summited Mt. irau and datuk. I also take part in many runs (10km) including trail run.

Planning to go to nuang for training once a week, climb staircase at office and jog everyday. May I know is the training sufficient?

I'm not confident but my friend encourage me to join them.

Can I ask, is there a bag storage service around climbing point or anywhere around for Mount KK climb?

I m thinking just bring my small bag up while leave the big bag.

Thanks.

Doubt hiking pole is needed. Head light you can get from Mr. DIY. It's not really expensive (RM10 plus, I think) - rechargeable and quite powerful. Can keep it after your hike in case of blackouts or when travelling tongue.gif

Last time yes. Pretty sure they should still have it now. It makes no sense for people to carry everything up. Last time what we did was kept some of our belongings with the driver before starting the hike. Then we left most of our belongings at the hostel where we stayed and take only the essential things just before embarking on the final ascent .
