So I have got this Ipad, it is 2 I reckon, from my cousin brother (I have no idea where he got it from anyway and I didn't bother to ask)

The problem here now is that the Ipad is disabled, and I can't go any futher than being on the homepage itself, I reckon the owner of this Ipad has already set a password for it, but then I couldn't find the it ask for the password, it shows there to ask me to connect to Itunes, so should I download the Itunes app or what? Also, it says activation required.

Anyone knows what problem it is and how to solve it?

Thanks vry much in advance biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

If it ask for itunes connection (an icon with cable plugging into itunes on the ipad screen), then connect it to itunes via cable through your computer. Download iTunes for your computer, install and run it. Then plug your iPad into it.
It should do the trick.

Your iPad should be on old firmware, as new IOS able to activated via wireless network without needing iTunes via computer.

Have you used Apple product before such iphone/ipod/ipad?? Just curios asking, no offense.

Ok so honestly I have absoblutely no idea what you are talking about, but anyhow I am still appreciated your reply. biggrin.gif

I don't think it is ask for itunes connection anyway, because I have installed the itunes already, and it says the ipad is locked with passcode, therefore I think you need to unlock it first before it can be connected to itunes.

I am not sure what firmware the ipad is, nor the IOS. However, I reckon now it is an ipad 3.

And fyi, yes haha I had an ipod before, but I have never came across any problems with it that that, I just installed the itunes and boom it can be used already, so I am really not sure about this ipad cause as I have stated before it is from my cousin bro hmm.gif

Even if you connect to Itunes, you will be asked to key in your password on the ipad first before it lets you sync. which your Ipad is locked and you cannot key anything. I know because there is a locked ipad at a friends house still cannot be open. Even with a restore option with a .ipsw file it will not work. it will hang at some percentage of restore forever.

Best is to get it to your local Apple reseller like Machines or Switch and pay to let them erase the whole ipad for you.

If you don't know how to solve it or lazy to learn how to do so, just send to Apple reseller and let them do the job. biggrin.gif
