Hi sifus,

Need some advice,

I am interested in getting the SGP Linear Crystal Series for my Ip 5 drool.gif . As from my observation it is a split snap on casing, and my concern is that, will the slide on snapping movement cause scratches or minor scuffs on the bezels of my ip 5.

Any of you here tried this casing before, mind sharing your experience hmm.gif ?

If it is not suitable, could you reccomend me a good one that can avoid such problems. From reading the post here, rubber casing seems the best, any good casings for the rubber version?

In between, I am first timer in this casing stuff, so please forgive my stupid questions. Used to buy ahem ahem brand. As I read the Ip5 is a fragile device, thus try not to be a cheapo and wanna protect it just like you guys. Thank you in advance! biggrin.gif

I am using the linear before. Recently just switched to element case. Before element case the linear is my all time best case. It wont scratch the side of the phone.

Thank you very much. I was kind of worried, as I am using a black I-phone 5 which is the most vulnarable model. May I ask how easy is it to install? It looks very complicated especially at the volume and silent switch area.....

Damn, I was never that paranoid before with my previous phones. Heard plenty of scratching issues with the black model, thus now decided to invest heavily to protect it.

Well it depends on each individual's taste , Otterbox cases is designed for rugged use for your phones, so most of its design are not meant to flaunt the I-phone 5's design rather to give it decent till almost complete protection.

The problem is that we have to have a balance within 3 main elements of protection, size, & design, when it comes to choosing most cases, as we only can have the best of two elements at a time for most cases and one has to be sacrificed.

For myself, I am paranoid about keeping my Ip5 scratchless and flawless, thus protection is my main priority, secondly I do not like thick cases as I hate the bulge and additional weight it gives to my pocket and phone. With these two points as the main priority, design has to be sacrificed for my side, as a good protective case look big and ugly at most of the time. Thus, the otterbox commuter series is the most suitable for me, it gives adequate protection with its 2 element casing ( rubber inner and hard outer casing) which meets my criteria however, design is sacrificed as because of the protection I required, the two layer casing hides the beauty of the anodized back and only reveals a little of it.

Again this, is just my own view and does not apply to everyone.

Cheers mate!

I have seen it before drool.gif Really awesome, but at the moment still a little pricey for my budget. Will invest in one for my second I-phone later. Can it fit with glas.tR?

My Belated Brief Review
Apologies to those I owe, was busy working hence, posted it late. Sorry for the poor picture quality, was taken with an I-pad and a noob photographer.

Anyways here is my toy in a Black Otter Box Commuter Series. Overall it is a nice casing, it feels solid and gives good protection. Buttons are fully functional and not hard to press unlike OEM covers, microphones and and speaker are not obstructed. A well built case indeed.

The sad thing is that, it does not fit very well with Glas.tR although the forumers in Macrumours said it does.
It is a little loose at the volume button area if you observe closely, and this allows dust to enter through. Another disadvantage is that it is big and bulky (but I am okay with it) ! Luckily did not go for the defender!, and yes, so far no issue with signals, still strong and fast.

Next target to try: Lifeproof series.

On another note;

Does anyone here know a good suggestion in clean the home button area ?, dust keeps on getting trap at the edges of the button and gets very annoying. Unlike other areas, it is very hard to reach with dust removal tapes.
