Hi,

I ordered a BD from Amazon UK on 22nd December. It was dispatched on 24th December, arrival estimate is 8th January but today is already the 19th. The carrier is Royal Mail hence no tracking available.
Another BD I ordered on 28th December arrived early January instead (also via Royal Mail).

Should i wait some more or do i email Amazon UK a complaint? How do i email Amazon UK to complaint?

Thanks smile.gif

i have not been ordering from Amazon UK for quite sometime but i think it is the same as the US. based on your statement, by right on the 9th of Jan you can email and tell them already... by clicking under 'help' and look for 'contact us'. usually they'll tell you to wait for another 2 weeks or more... only if no avail, contact them again for further action nod.gif

You already wait enough time.  It is time to email Amazon UK and Amazon UK will dispatch replacement copy to you.

Thank you for the help smile.gif

U cam write to customers service , usually they will refund the postage n send u replacement .

I finally got this package  after 50days

Thanks.
This is the 1st time i got my parcel late since i started buying from Amazon in 2011.
The customer service replied me real quick. The status for the replacement BD is already 'dispatching soon'. It was also mentioned that i get to keep the BD i originally ordered if it arrives anyway after i've received the replacement BD. Cool smile.gif

Ordered few BDs from Amazon UK in before Christmas, delivery delayed by 7 days from expected date and lodged a complaint to CS. Immediately they arrange for a replacement and courier by UPS.

Received the parcel within 3 business day and being charged RM90+ for MY custom tax, damn sakit hati as my total order + delivery is only £40+!  doh.gif
*
That's scary. I checked my order and it has been dispatched. VAT = 0, total cost =0, standard shipping by Royal Mail. Did u ask specifically for UPS?

QUOTE(maskedchan @ Jan 21 2013, 04:41 PM)
can sell us the extra copies cheaper  whistling.gif

That's what i thought i'd do. It was mentioned in the CS email that if i receive the BD 1st ordered before the replacement BD arrives, i am to cancel the replacement BD in the Amazon ordering page. Will they know if i don't do that, and keep both the BDs?

Some questions for Lord of the Rings Extended Ed. BD owners here:

1. How is the picture quality compared to the theatrical edition, seeing that the codec differs. And there's the issue with the green tint as well, or is it not an issue?

2. I am no big fan of LOTR, but am able to relate to Tolkien's universe as I am a gamer myself, but love to watch the trilogy as they are aesthetically pleasing. If i am to purchase just the theatrical ed (cheaper), will i be missing out a lot on the extras in the EE?

1.  The quality is definitely further better than theatrical edition nod.gif  I don't think green tint is issue at all.  This green tint issue only become an issue of debate before this extended edition is release.  After extended edition release, no more complain  laugh.gif  at lease I don't notice it.  laugh.gif

2. Extended edition got extra 3 hours compared to theatrical edition.  I not sure 3 hours is considered a lot or not in your view point.  sweat.gif  hmm.gif

Thanks. I'm getting the extended edition then when its $39.99 smile.gif

Hi,

Any idea who does the delivery to our home addresses after our amazon BDs has been cleared by customs?

My BDs still hasn't arrived yet. Dispatched from UK end of December 2012. Contacted them already via email, they've dispatched the replacement BDs but still i see none in my mail box. They are by Royal Mail, so no tracking.

Wondering if the problem isn't with Amazon, but with our local couriers? Or maybe the customs kept the BDs for themselves?

For standard shipping, it will be local pos malaysia.

If the initial order and replacement order also didnt reach u, better check with pos msia.

Or maybe kena tahan by custom, but u didnt realize at all / didnt receive the slip

if i am to check with pos malaysia, how should i do it coz there is no tracking no. ?
How to check with customs if they have my package?

Thanks

Yes, without tracking no...its hard to check

I just called pos msia customer service, if u still want to enquire about the package..u may do so but its tedious work/hassles (no gurantee)

U need the sender assistance to provide all the shipment details (date, time, etc) and u need to fill up some forms with pos msia to launch a case.

For more info, pls call pos msia cust service for advice and guidance.

If u r facing missing packages very often, i suggest u to stop ordering from overseas without a tracking number or start lodging a case with pos msia to inform them about this. (if really too often la)

Just called KLIA customs (03-87773745) - nice lady answered. Apparently, this is the main hub that processes all international parcels. If the parcel is detained, they will notify receiver via mail (which i did not get). I don't have a tracking no, so she traced my name through their system - nothing came up, so my BDs had no problems with the customs - she directed me to Pos Malaysia Pusat Mel & Kourier (03-87773777) - another lady answered, told me she can't help me without tracking number. Sigh.

Guess i'll wait a while more before i proceed with investigation (as u've mentioned), hopefully i'll have my BDs by then.

Thanks smile.gif

Hi, need opinion from amazon sifus here:

The above are 2 BDs shipped from Amazon (via Standard Shipping) on 18/12/2012, estimated arrival is 1/2/2013. Total cost was 32.95 USD. The parcel was handled by Iparcel with a tracking number which was not trackable until i lodged a complaint a few days ago to Amazon and got refunded the postage fees. They probably made the tracking number trackable and this is what i see from the tracking:

user posted image

The parcel is at Customs since 27/12/12 shocking.gif Is it normal for customs to hold the BD for so long and what for? I called the Customs at KLIA, they checked for parcels with my name (coz no tracking no.) but found none. I also did not receive any tax slips from customs.

This is frustrating...

I think it's time for you to lodge complaint on package lost. 14 days after expected delivery date should be justifiable for a replacement set.
*
They asked to wait till 15/2/13 which is today before lodging a complaint for replacement or refund which i'm gonna do in a while. This is really discouraging. Such a long wait, yet fruitless.

QUOTE(willkso @ Feb 15 2013, 10:13 AM)
Your parcel most probably with Pos Malaysia since I-Parcel will be deliver by Pos Malaysia. I had my last parcel delivered within 14 days even to East Malaysia.. smile.gif
*
What type of shipping do you use? Courier is way too expensive...

-------------------------------------------
Just called Pusat Mel & Courier, the lady asked me for tracking no. I gave the Iparcel tracking number STDPHX*** but she said not valid, tracking no. must start with E/C, numbers in btw, end with US. She asked me to check with sender which local courier they use? Called Pos Malaysia - gave me same answer??

I usually choose standard shipping and my last parcel that shipped using I-Parcel arrived in less than 2 weeks to Bintulu. I need to collect parcel from local post office.
*
That's fast. You ordered from Amazon US or UK?
My Amazon US orders via standard shipping always take >1 month.
My last order from Amazon UK via Royal Mail also arrived <2weeks time but few orders thereafter also late already.
Dunno what's going on actually.

if the customs held that long, there can only be one reason: they have not finish watching your bds yet; especially the 3-in-1 combo one!  laugh.gif sorry, that didn't help.  tongue.gif

ok, there's nothing much you can do since you paid for a standard shipping; well... you pay peanuts you get monkeys!  tongue.gif  but then again, it's a good thing. since you chose the cheapest mode why bother going through the hassle calling here & there... and if customs held your parcels but failed to inform you, then it is not your problem, right?

ok... it is your problem because you already paid for it. so when the waiting period given by amazon dues, just inform them that you did not receive them still. they'll give you an option of refund or make a replacement order. so just request for a replacement order... that's it, irregardless whether it did arrive in m'sian shore or not. with priority aka courier you can't because they can track its whereabouts. for most times, they'll use expedited shipping without charging you extra fee this time. the only drawback is that you have to start playing the waiting game once again.  wink.gif

my best record so far for standard shipping was 6 days from amazon US, and that's not from a peak season/period. the worst was 2 months and 3 weeks!!!  blush.gif
*
I have been playing the waiting game with Amazon UK since December 2012 for a single BD via standard shipping. Even the replacement is late, just lodged a complaint for a 2nd replacement, imagine it's now February already.
As for the Amazon US BDs, i am really tempted to ask for a refund, but i got those BDs for cheaps, so feel 'loss' a bit if i let go. Yet the waiting... it's killing me. tongue.gif
I really do think that somewhere along the line of shipment, someone might have just conveniently kept the BD for themselves since there is no tracking.
The only positive i get from this experience is learning the ins and outs of international shipping from all sifus here.
Anyhow, thanks for sharing your experience. Your 2 months and 3 weeks wait is really "encouraging" smile.gif

For your info, both standard shipping from Amazon US either MSI or I-Parcel will be delivered by Pos Malaysia. If 1 or 2 title only, they will deliver to your delivery address but if it's bigger box, then they will leave you a note to pick up from post office.

I-Parcel used to be very slow in delivery previously but seems they've improved. My last purchases during BF was delivered using MSI which's extremely slow. Sometime exceed estimated delivery a week or two..

Thanks for sharing your experience. So far, all my Amazon US BDs arrive >1month using standard shipping. Sibu considered 'kawasan terpencil' maybe smile.gif

These are the Amazon UK BDs i ordered in December 2012. Just got the pos laju slip yesterday, went to pos office to get the parcels. They were all ordered separately. One of the parcels' packaging was badly dented sad.gif but luckily the BD survived. U can see 2 Fast & Furious boxsets, one without the plastic seal, the other is the replacement copy. Guess someone conveniently opened it up, watched it, then resealed the package. In fact, all the packages has been opened by customs, and resealed with the cheapo translucent tape, in the name of "inspection". Luckily, the BDs plastic seal is still intact. The excuse for the delay is the long holidays during CNY. Lesson learned - not to ship during festive season, at least in Sibu, coz the locals here take their holidays way to seriously.

I have no idea. Amazon UK was eager to send me replacements, but Amazon US was quick to refund the money.

QUOTE(wiNd @ Feb 18 2013, 08:16 PM)
no point sending so many replacement orders if u r not receiving them. need to rectify "problems" with the local delivery / customs

i believe amazon can trace the package...clearly its shipped to Malaysia but failed to deliver to customer. (for "wateva" reasons)
*
U are right. Customs didn't hold my packages for long, the release dates stamped were early. But i hate it that they actually opened up the packaging to see what is inside. What's the point? It's not like they are able to do anything even if its a porno disc.
The problem was with our local pos malaysia. Just couldn't count on them.

If it is porn disc, their will confiscate.  But the problem is can their identify it?  tongue.gif

Years ago, when I just start order from Amazon US, at one occation, I ordered 2 BDs.

One of the BD, the cover have very sexy girl but that disc actually is Yoga disc not a porn disc.

But another disc look like very normal cover but is actually banned in many countries include our country and can considered as porn disc if based on most people judgement.

Customs officers did inspect my parcel but their only concern and inspect that Yoga disc and I saw finger print in Yoga disc but never touch another real porn disc.  At the end, their still release my parcel to me without confiscate any disc.  whistling.gif

This is the disc that I mentioned with normal cover but actually can considered as porn disc by many people:  tongue.gif

I have no experience importing porn but if they do confiscate those, then movies touching on religion are banned as well right? Anyways, i'd like to stress again that the customs has no business unsealing BDs just to see what is inside. An Xray easily shows the contents of the BD box and google will show if the title of the movie is "dirty" or not. Leaving fingerprints on your Yoga disc only indicate that they are tempted to or had watched the supposedly "dirty' movie smile.gif

probably got stucked at Customs because need extra processes to get permission to release the package from finas/censorship for BDs/DVDs.

since no 1 inform you about it, it will probably got stay like this, until u appoint pos msia as agent to settle this (or go settle yourself)

its very common and happens about 3 times out of 10 orders. if use DHL (they automatically settle everything on behalf)

and dont forget DECEMBER is holiday month...super slow (pos msia, ketam, censorship dept, etc) during these period of time

How to appoint pos malaysia as agent? Thanks
