Seem like this week there is no more Deal of the Week for Blu-ray. Is Amazon change their policy again no to have Deal of the Week for Blu-ray? If not mistaken, Deal of the Week for Blu-ray just started around 2 years ago. hmm.gif

Don't worry now. GST not yet implement. In fact, GST have bigger impact on our daily life than buying BD. tongue.gif Cause GST will eventually replace Sales Tax and Service Tax.

Anything other than cash, is subject to GST. So, it is either exempt or taxable. If taxable, GST is either standard-rated or zero-rated.

I don't think GST will implement soon cause it affect everyone in Malaysia. So, when Government want to implement, definitely got some people say no yet ready, give more time.

Then situation is similar like minimum wage case. blush.gif

Don't worry too much. GST, in fact, is a fairer tax. Since it mean you only pay more GST when you spend more.

So, normally, the richer people, who have higher spending habit, need to pay more.

And some necessity goods are zero-rated GST (0% GST or similar to no GST). tongue.gif

Is Singapore dealer for Oppo Blu-ray player, mainly BDP-103 still SLT Technology Pte Ltd.? or Audio Iconic? or there is many dealers in Singapore? tongue.gif

Can purchase mod kit from all dealers?

What to take note if we want to bring back new Oppo Blu-ray player back to Malaysia through Airline (eg. MAS, AirAsia etc)?

Yep. Need to try my luck. Plan to buy 1 unit of BDP-103 when I visit Singapore on early June this year. tongue.gif

Maybe I will remove the box cover and put the player in my luggage and claim it is used unit. tongue.gif

Last year I brought back a BD player from Perth in its original packing. I just put it in my check-in luggage and walked out the green lane as normal. Perhaps if you are the only one carring a big luggage (if it is big) coming back from Singapore may be suspicious. Better if you can exit later together with international arriving passengers where people have more luggage so you can just blend in, if necessary. From my experience, customs seldom ask to inspect your luggage unless you are acting nervous.  sweat.gif  I believe you have watched enough BD movies to know how to act innocent.  whistling.gif  Anyway, good luck!

hi to all sifu here, hope to make it quick ..need some guidance here.
is there any player in the market that can play both region A and region B disc?
its been over 1 year plus since i watch my last blue ray from ps3.kinda outdated.
thanks for reading

You need to look for those mod player to enable you to play Region A and Region B. In usual electronic shops, I don't think got. Need to look for those specialized store that specialize in selling audio and video equipments. Maybe their have sales mod player like Oppo Blu-ray player with modification kit. But that usually expensive.

johnbluraylover, any idea the Oppo Blu-ray player buy from SLT Technologies is come with Type G power plug (Malaysia type)?

I noted if order from Amazon US, the Oppo BDP-103 after inclusive of deposit for import tax (aound $200+) and select cheapest shipping charges only around US$760 (around RM2,400) ship to Malaysia. Whereas, if SLT Technologies sell this unit at S$999 (around RM2,500), it seem like more expensive than purchase from Amazon US. The only problem is power plug and whether it is 110V or 240V. hmm.gif

Since Singapore having Great Singapore Sales start from May 31, any possibility SLT Technologies will give discount for this player based on their past practice? Any idea? tongue.gif

I know Singapore is using same plug as us but just not sure the plug come with Oppo already change or not. tongue.gif

Star Trek Into Darkness Starfleet Phaser Limited Edition Gift Set is available for pre-order in Amazon, anyone interested? tongue.gif

Too bad, can't copy Amazon's image for this Gift set.

Also a bit disappointed about this Gift set. Previous Star Trek Gift Set is far better than this.
