the problem with lampard based on my logic is he's old and mega earner. don't think Chelsea board want to release someone who represent the name of Chelsea for long time coz that will tarnish the name a bit. in terms of marketing, dont think its a popular move. that being said, they cant afford to keep paying him big bucks each week. from what i've read,

the new rule is 10 yellow cards = 2 match ban. compare to now, 5 yellow cards = 1 match ban.

i don't think the accumulated cards is reset.
