The lad is going to be under pressure. It's his first game and it's Mansfield, not a top Premier league team.
So he has to impress or the media and the fans will crucify him. Carloz28 will hang him personally.

So he better score at least a brace.

Even if it works today it won't tell the true story of the combination. Mansfield are nowhere near Premier League standard.

On a side note, good to see Robinson finally playing again. I can't remember the last time I watched him play.

I personally think it depends on what we are setting out to achieve. On paper, this paring seems a little negative. Most of the time they've been paired together, both have started in deep positions. Would be a prudent approach if we were playing away against lethal sides I suppose. Against sides we expect to get 3 points against however, I would replace any of the two with Shelvey or Henderson (assuming Stevie G is automatic).

Unlike Gerrard and Lampard, they don't actually occupy the same position. Allen has been filling in for Lucas this whole time. When he was brought on against Sunderland for example, he was played much further forward and was that close to scoring his first goal for us.
