Chelsea under Rafa now is definitely posing much much more threat. Quick, deadly & precise.
Just barely over a month in charge.

We conceded 2 quick goals after taking the lead definitely not helping. Stoke got the morale boost while our players are intimidated since then and unable to pass our usual way up from defense.
If you just look at defensive errors & mistakes, Man Utd concede even more on such situation. It's just that they can always overturn the score with their fire power while we're unable to do so, thus every mistake our players made has been magnified. I'm not sure how BR gonna rectify our aerial weaknesses but since Skrtel & Agger gotten their contract renewed, those 2 are going to be our main stay at the heart of our defense. At least for a couple more seasons. |

The slump and downfall of Liverpool FC isn't merely down to inadequate managers & players. It's decades of cumulative mismanagement & sluggishness from the very top of our club structure. Specifically the period of David Moores and G&H ownership.
FSG comes close of repeating our previous 3 owners footsteps. In fact, FSG got even worse by lavishing hundred over millions on players transfers, agent fees & players wages in their first season & a half. FSG's inexperience on the European football world causes them being taken on a ride and adopting such desperate measures. Thankfully though, they've come to their senses and taking the club forward in a more sensible approach this season. It's a reset for LFC if you ask me. Laying a good and solid foundation and structures for the club as a whole. Yes, it's slow and steady. Step by step. Hopefully it will turns out great for us in years to come. Let's treat this as a 20km marathon instead of 100m or 200m race. As for SAF's hairdryer treatment. It's decades old of him taking charge that eventually grants him greater power and status, he brought up the likes of Nevilles, Butt, Scholes & Beckham. Of course he yields better influence over his players. You don't come into a new company shouting and throwing orders to your subordinates for their ineffeciency without getting to know them better and offer some guidance and helps first. If not, It would causes massive havoc and counter-productive. This post has been edited by Yluxion: Dec 28 2012, 05:23 PM |

I'm confident that BR will be with us next season, though this season it's very unlikely we're able to eclipse the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton in the league table. 7th is the highest we can possibly achieve IMO.
More importantly, let's see how far we could go in Europa & FA Cup after additions of firepower together with the return of Borini. Just look at Atletico Madrid now after winning the Europa League last season. It's a great confidence booster for the squad and a great indication of the team competitiveness heading into next season. |

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jan 3 2013, 03:53 PM) Just sneaked a peak at the table and took notice of a couple of things. Cisse is off form and a long list of injuries which hit Newcastle very hard. Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Ryan Taylor & Stephen Taylor. Just to name a few.2) Newcastle are languishing near the bottom of the table despite an impressive finish last season. What happened? |

QUOTE(dikara10 @ Jan 10 2013, 03:19 PM) In the last premier league against sunderland, I really impress with hendo performance. I would be happy if he start again this weekend with lucas and gerrard behind. I always believe that Henderson have a future with us. I've said that he's level-headed and possess a great engine. The fact that he's been getting a great deal of tactical inputs from BR certainly helps his game. He's grabbed every opportunity given (unlike Shelvey), and looking strong to cement himself into first team starter. |

QUOTE(dillonyong @ Jan 10 2013, 03:56 PM) Same here ler. Downing has been quite comfortable for some time now so I am not too worried about him handling Valencia as Hendo/Lucas is doing quite well in tracking back but the problem is RVP. Having 3 CB against a lone striker is a big no no for me. Unless all the other defenses are weakling, so far, RVP has owned them all most of the time. He's quick, he's accurate and he punishes even a small marginal error. I dont think Agger and Skrtel will be enough to handle him. That's why I favor 2 centrebacks, 1 sweeper. Plus it will cripple their wing attacks knowing that getting past the defensive midfielder, they got the fullbacks, then getting past the fullbacks they still gotta deal with a sweeper marking their targetman. I really favor 3 defenders for this one. Our strength lies with our midfield the abilities to circling and retain the ball, thus limiting opponent chances of playing their football in our half. BR pretty much have a full squad to choose from, so I see no reason for BR to abandon a system that he strongly believes in. In fact, this is the sort of occasion that BR looking to lay a mark of the philosophy & system that he's been instilling into the team. This post has been edited by Yluxion: Jan 10 2013, 04:27 PM |

QUOTE(dillonyong @ Jan 10 2013, 04:33 PM) Let's be realistic. We are potentially dealing with RVP, Chicarito, Shinji Kagawa Ashley Young, Nani and Antonio Valencia. Is 3 - 2 with Chicharito scoring the controversial winner. It's a close game between them.If Agger and Sktel can fumble against one Benteke, one Jon Walters, one Podolski and one Santi Cazorla, what are the chances we have? Their defense have leaked some goals as well, and our counter attack featuring Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling and Gerrard are equally quick and dangerous and may potentially knock in a winner for us. 4-3-3 at Old Trafford? Seriously? Just look at Chelsea when they played there with 4-3-3. Result is MU 3 Chelsea 0. That is reality my friend. Unless BR is looking to churn out a draw in OT then he might opt for a 5 men defensive line. If not, let's see who can outscore each other this time around.
