i just took my SPM results .. and it's 9A's 2B's ...

and when i told me buddies that im going 2 take multimedia design , they asked me 2 reconsider ... saying that my talent will be wasted as my maths and physics are always excellent

last month i told me parents that im taking multimedia design , they seemed to agree with it .. but now after i got my result , they asked me 2 change to other course (but not in a hard way)

personally ,im quite interested in stuff related to pc and advertising .. what should i do ><

Haiz, good result bad result also got problems. However, i prefer to have problem with good result, but i didn't get good result... sweat.gif

In my humble opinion, u should think twice before u take that multimedia design, like ur friends said, i feel ur talent will be wasted. However, if u really sure u can do well in that multimedia design, go for it. Hm...... anyway, don't take my opinion too serious because i don't really know much about those courses thingy... sweat.gif

First of all:

1.) Do you like the subject?

2.) Do you know anything about the course structure?

3.) And finally, what do you want to be in the future?

This are the three special questions you can ask yourself before deciding. Hmm... any opinions on this? biggrin.gif

The best way is follow your own heart. If you doesn't have the interest on the course you're doing, you're going to have very hard time finishing your studies.

Congratulations on the excellent results!

Do whatever you feel like doing, but don't ignore people's advice either. Ask yourself why you like whatever it is you like, and will you be able to live with it as a career for the rest of your life?

Best way to find out if you're cut out for multimedia design is to ask someone who's working as a... whatever multimedia graduates work as. tongue.gif

All the best. Your future looks bright.

advertisement designer and a web designer is a big difference, when in college you are able to only major in one of the subjects.

You should square it down to one.

Usually in the Graphic Design course they have the following -

Multimedia
Graphic Design
Advertising
Illustration

If I were you I would encourage you do more extensive research and also realise that in this line its is very competitive and there is no going back once you start. Especially in advertising it is in a line where it is a very competitive field and a lot of budget is spend on adverts.

Btw you should read my blog regarding an issue of unemployed design students. I hope you get a better grasp of this particular matter.
