No, no glue involve. Just alot of sponge and squezee in the hole, it will hold firmly. You need 5-6 pieces of car wash sponge to seal it, the hole is big.

Oh? Yu filled up the intake box below that plastic grating?
So much sponge?
Then it's gonna soak up/collect lotsa water when it rains/car is washed...
Wld that not b a prob? rolleyes.gif

Hi & Good Morning, Everybody!! notworthy.gif

How was Day #1 of 2013? Good?
As alwaz in Life, there will alwaz b good things happening & also not-so-good things....
As in 1 philosophy me hv read, 10% of watever happens is BEYOND our ctrl....
However, 90% of it is how we react 2it...WITHIN our ctrl! True?

So do b positive & react positively 2watever happens this year or in the future, ok?
Yup, yu may hv probs with yr Gaga...in between yr enjoyment & fun with it...
Juz need 2take positive action/steps 2overcome those probs...
And yu'll continue 2enjoy yr beloved Gaga...again!! thumbup.gif

Hi Bro YAB... notworthy.gif
No la, Bro...pls dun so scare ppl even b4 they hv even started la...
Doing oil change shld not cost an engine 4our Gaga...
**Tip : NEVER overtighten anything... brows.gif
Alwaz tighten by hand FIRST...with NO forcing wan.
If really scared, can invest in a Torque Wrench(?). Then No Fear liao. : P

Frankly, like yu Bros in KL area, with so many of yu arnd, doing a kinda co-op style DIY maintenance wld b very rewarding in terms of $$$ & FUN doing things 2gether!!

And yup, Bro YAB, our Gaga oil sump is made of softer material than ole gen Saga/Iswaga ie made of aluminium alloy rather than steel.
However, the drain plug now also uses a copper washer (called "gasket, drain plug" in SC bills) which acts as a seal cum ctrl over over-tightening it.

So as long as that drain plug is not movable after tightening by hand & a slight xtra tug (not body wt), it shld not loosen, being juz a plug?

Sincerely hope my clarification wld encourage any Bro keen on DIY yr Gaga punya service maintenance...starting with a simple oil change.
cheers.gif
To start off :
Observe how the mechs do it when yu send yr Gaga 2SCs 4service while new...learn step by step!
Best wishes...& Good Luck, Bros!! thumbup.gif

my oil sump there that gear sudah kena cracked once... from size 14 punya nut sudah "upgraded" to size 24 punya nut... itulah my DIY oil change punya cost...
*
So sorry 2hear re above, Bro... sad.gif
Feel yu started off w/out sufficient guidance/knowledge and thus the consequence....
Like in saying "Knowledge is INvaluable!" tongue.gif

NB. 1 thing me hv learnt when doing oil change 4Gaga. Replace the copper washer 4Drain Plug! That soft copper washer is compressed & becomes thinner/flatter each time yu tightened the plug, resulting in the plug going further into the sump drain hole! This cld result in over-tightening the plug!!
The washer is very cheap 2replace...

Frankly, like stated b4, me hv also "LOST" some $$$ along this road of DIY-ing...
However, it's a good lesson learnt...that's one one improves one's knowledge & skill. Agreed?
In Life we fall & when we get up, we are stronger....cheers.gif

Me feel sure many of yu Bros hv got into accidents, as an example. Result? Loss of use of car and repairs costing hundreds or even thousands of $$$$!
Do we stop driving?
Nope. We find out why the accident happened AND improve on our driving skills. Correct?

From my own experience, a no of mechs hv also caused damage 2my rides. If not 4my own chks & discovery, they wld hv kept mum over their mistakes!
In Proton SCs, mech turnover is high. Yu'd find mechs who dun hv the aptitude 2b mechs at all! Serious....

Anyway, me juz trying 2motivate yu Bros NEVER 2b scared of making mistakes in Life while pursuing yr interests & hobbies.
Yr Gaga is yr ride, yr wub.gif ...
Ultimately, YOU are the Paymaster....
Yr choice...Yr decision. notworthy.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Btw Good Morning, Everyone!! cheers.gif

ps. For first timers doing DIY, good advice is to prep well, thus eliminating unforeseen probs. AND, if possible, do so with someone who has done same b4....Good Luck, Bros!
pps. Me hv alwaz had 2DIY alone by myself...so gathering info & prep well has been my only way...
