QUOTE(awdarr @ Dec 29 2012, 04:30 PM) Hi guys, need your advice / help. How sure were you when they say piston need replaced? the black oil stain may be the result of a shoddy top overhaul job.My parent is driving year 2009 BLM automatic and the mileage is very low around 15k kms only. Just couple months back, the car failed to start (battery is brand new) and needed to tow to our normal workshop. It's found out that the pistons need to be replaced. The cost is over RM1k and has been fixed. Now after 1 month has passed, there's this black oil stain on the floor after overnight. Do u guys face similar issues? Since the car is just slightly over 3 years and so low mileage, can I say we are just bad luck getting a lemon car? |

Can some kind soul owner of a FLX CVT answer a fellow Saga member's enquiry? I can't give a reliable answer since I don't have the car anymore
QUOTE(MR_alien @ Dec 29 2012, 08:14 PM) want to ask something abt proton's CVT or any other CVT when u stopped @ traffic light pressing the brake(fully)...no change to N, still in D will the CVT stop itself? my meaning of stop itself mean that even if u release the brake pedal slowly...it won't even move(as if its in N) cuz the mirage CVT...when fully stop at traffic light...when i release 80-90% of the brake pedal...it still doesn't move it will only start moving after i fully release the brake |

QUOTE(modskywalker @ Dec 29 2012, 09:49 PM) i have tried it few days back my FLX SE will move when i release my brake even a little bit from fully press. I believe by doing this will harm our brake pad also the clutch i guess, any anyone correct me? QUOTE(blau-saga @ Dec 29 2012, 09:53 PM) from my observation, at least the clutch will be released slowly even if u fully release the brake or not, that's without pressing accel, for certain angle of slope it will hold the car still QUOTE(BahWanG @ Dec 29 2012, 10:10 PM) Saga one the moment you release brake, it will start creeping instantly if the car is on a flat road.. On upwards slope, it will rollback a bit before the creeping function gains full power to creep the car upwards. Downwards slope, no need to say la. use logic. lol Alrighty, I'll post this to MR_alien release a bit of brakes = creep slower lo. On a side note, never let the car to creep upwards without any throttle. Doing so will grant you a toasted clutch. This post has been edited by dares: Dec 29 2012, 11:09 PM |

QUOTE(BahWanG @ Dec 29 2012, 10:30 PM) operating the CVT unit in the Saga is actually different than operating a conventional AT car. I just tekan and hold brake, seldom shift out of D In conventional AT car, you press on the brakes, select D, release handbrake then release brakes and finally press minyak and go. For the Saga CVT, one can actually skip away with the brakes. One can simply slot into D, release handbrakes and terus pijak minyak and vroom away. Try that CVT method in a AT car, you'll jerk the shit during launching.... |

QUOTE(wanfauzan @ Dec 29 2012, 09:38 PM) If I am not mistaken, the TCU will automagically detect that you are waiting for the traffic light and disengage the clutch. Whether the TCU engage the clutch upon fully or partial release of the brake, I am not quite sure. Normally I just fully release my brake pedal. Will test someday, The clutch is disengaged in N or P, or when the footbrake is pressed. When shifted in to D / R / L and the footbrake is not pressed, the clutch will re-engage.This post has been edited by dares: Dec 29 2012, 11:14 PM |

QUOTE(siong62630 @ Dec 30 2012, 04:59 PM) for saga flx, anyone tried before pumping the tires pressure to 240 fronts and 220 back? is it safe? the reason is the recommended air pressure i felt the car is jumping, if i pump higher i feel the ride goes smoother I tot the higher the pressure, the bumpier it is? I used to pump 225 front 200 rear. |

QUOTE(wanfauzan @ Dec 30 2012, 08:23 PM) tested releasing the brake pedal halfway during traffic light stop. the car started moving eventhough the brake pedal is not fully released yet. seems like mitsubishi mirage don't behave like saga cvt. I believe the Mirage CVT is torque converter since it is INVECS-III based like the LGT / Inspirabtw, mitsu mirage cvt uses torque converter or wet clutch? as far as i know, inspira cvt uses torque converter |
