There is a difference between travelling in j class.....and having procession of enrich gold/platinum status.....

If you are not enrich status entitled, but is travelling on a MH business class ticket, you will have access to the designated lounge for that airport.....in msia and LHR, it's the golden lounge.....in other airports, it's any lounge MH has an arrangement with for their j passengers to use....eg in Changi, it's the sats premium lounge in T2.....in Melbourne it's the QF international business lounge.....in Penang the plaza premium lounge....If there are other oneworld lounges, you should have access too....

On the other hand, if you have enrich gold or platinum status, and hence oneworld sapphire or emerald status, irrespective of class of travel, as long as you are flying with a oneworld airline, you and one guest can enter any oneworld member lounges in any airport....that really opens a lot of options....

Eg, if I fly MH sin-kch in y....with enrich gold, I can enter the excellent QF j lounge at Changi, or the BA lounge or the MH 3rd party partner sats premier lounge....if flying BNE-MEL with QF, use the Qantas club lounge in BNE domestic....

And get this....if departing nrt with any oneworld airline, one of the 4, or ALL of the 4 options available.....JAL, cx, aa, or QF....yes, you can SURF lounges if you have the time!.....lol

Quality of a la carte menu at qf f lounge is better than many restaurants. While cx f lounge at hkg was operated by peninsula, fried horfun was excellent.

even for y redemption, 1 mile is about 3 sen value.....so 4000 miles is worth rm120.....getting rm50 is poor value....

I think Y redemption should be about 3.6-4.4 cents/mile, at least that's what I've been getting

Enrich mile is a rip-off, used to worth 20 cents/mile.

It's actually still quite decent using Enrich on direct flights on Economy to cities which MAS flies to. You can get KL to  London / Tokyo / Melbourne for 50-60k Miles return. It's worthless for anything else.

How much is the surcharge and taxes need to pay?

Comparing with other ffp, enrich mile is hard to collect, expensive to redeem.

About the same for y class....but yes, kf j redemption is lower than the crazy enrich revenue based miles.....

Enrich is either expensive to collect or expensive to spend. Not worth to consider.

Yes - in the Regional lounge recently they had the usual hot foot options with fresh pasta options as well as usual fresh noodles, lots of brownies, cakes and doughtnuts and also cheese selection which is quite rare to see at buffets except at 5 star hotels. I think the offering is pretty good now.

I'm fine with less alcohol allowance - there's already some people who don't know how to behave in public, shouting loudly amongst their group, playing their video call over the speakerphone, etc. I don't want people's inhibitions lessened further.

If one is unhappy with neighbours in the lounge could always move to a quieter place.

Alcohol is available 24/7 at lounges in nrt, kix, pek, PVG, HKG, tpe, bkk, LHR, DOH, DXB, sin, CDG, Syd, Mel, etc and could hardly find loudly people. With or without alcohol, uncultured people remains uncultured.

Sq, qr, etc serve champagne as welcome drink Vs mas fruit juice. For reasons, mas could hardly attract foreign premium pax.
