yes, i am doing re-search on Cathay..

these few days of study, i realised that MAS flight only cover limited area, now thinking to consider collecting miles at cathay..

wanna ask if anyone has such experience, I have 2 different award ticket
PEK-KUL then KUL-PEN, during check-in at PEK, can I demand my ticket treated as transit, luggage direct send to PEN? Then I no need collect luggage and check-in again when touch down KLIA

I have managed to check through my luggage when I flew BA for VIE-LHR (economy class) connecting to my MH LHR-KUL flight (business class). There are interline agreements in place but checking through baggage on separate tickets is ultimately at the check-in counter agent's discretion. In VIE the first agent refused to check my luggage through. I had to find a more sympathetic agent to check through my luggage.

Are you travelling the same class. same airline? Then it should be easier. Nonetheless, I would think going earlier to the airport and being polite with the agent should do the trick.

Lol, I think you meant PEN and not PNG, right? PNG is an airport in Brazil.

Usually these vouchers carry how long of a validity eh? Need to redeem some miles which are expiring.

For Miles+Cash booking, will I still earning the elite sector?

I'm checking KL-Melb-KL.
Previously using Miles alone on economy it was 50,600 Miles + RM449 tax.
Now it's RM2114 + RM383 tax (OR 53,400 Miles + RM447)
Not a big difference here.

Has anyone tried calling CS? Does the old Miles alone booking work, just that it doesn't appear on website?

I'd rather take the bite than to lose it all eventually. Afterall, I've too much miles to burn.
