QUOTE(maiself @ Sep 14 2015, 04:40 PM) I do not need Platinum as Gold is enuff.. 45KG luggage allowance under Eco or 60kg under Biz class.. Say your cheapest cost RM4540 x 5 = RM22700 ... and so far I've only seen that price during promos. 5 return tickets to Paris(4540)/London(5599) (MH Smart) = +/- 50k miles to maintain my Gold tier hehe The rest of the trip I usually will redeem my points How u managed to get Platinum with 5 times to Europe + few Asean routes? mind share some calculation? 22700 / 50 = RM 454. 50 because it takes 50 sectors (flights) to have Enrich Gold. With a budget of RM454 per flight, any domestic destination is in reach. Heck, even Singapore or Bangkok is around RM350 nett if booked 1 or 2 days before. I'm sure you know Business is 2 x sector so you could actually get Gold in half the time (compared to flying domestic/regional economy) at the same cost (but some shopping around needed since not all C-class seats are always below RM1k) Wouldn't that be easier (and cheaper, after exchange rate, accommodation etc) to get Gold ? |

QUOTE(athlon @ Oct 30 2015, 10:42 AM) if the flight code starts with CX then you can't use your Enrich miles. QUOTE(X.E.D @ Oct 30 2015, 11:17 AM) You can't upgrade CX tickets using MH miles. Oneworld doesn't have intra-alliance upgrade opportunities. (Star has it) That's right, you can't use your Enrich miles on any non-MH flight. But athlon mentioned it's a code-share, so if its bookable via Enrich or MH website then it will have a MH flight number allowing you to use your Enrich Miles assuming the booking was completed via MH's website and not CX.Codeshares are even murkier territory tbh because MH might not have access to CX's business inventory, etc. Only CX bookings in YBHKML fares can upgrade using Asia Miles. QUOTE(dctravels @ Dec 26 2015, 07:33 AM) Malaysia Airlines Tentatively Schedules Last Boeing 777 Service in late-Mar 2016 MH already uses B738 for KUL-TPE which is 4h40m vs KUL-CAN 4h5mOn 26MAR16, the 777 operates last flight on Kuala Lumpur – Guangzhou route, which will switch to 737-800 from 27MAR16. 737 for KUL-CAN? Seriously? http://airlineroute.net/2015/12/23/mh-777-s16update1/ just be prepared for unending lines for the toilet |

QUOTE(minthiam @ Jan 1 2016, 12:20 AM) Very true, the cabin crew also conveniently forgot to mention beer and alcohol when they serve brunch for all the short haul flights. They will usually mention "what would you like to drink, we have water, juices and soft drinks..." only international flights (except to Singapore) serve alcoholic beverages. Domestic the most "expensive" drink you can get is probably the tomato juice. it's a shame they don't serve beer / smaller selection of wine in Business on domestic ... or have it in the lounges. Even PPL has beer. |

QUOTE(JC_jun @ Feb 14 2016, 07:23 PM) I am flying tomorrow, with MH business class ticket. Can i use this ticket to enter Cathay Pacific lounge in KLIA? Yes, you're entitled to enter the CX Lounge. Just the ticket holder though, no guest allowed unless you have OneWorld Sapphire or Emerald Started to feel boring to go golden lounge QUOTE(JC_jun @ Feb 14 2016, 08:52 PM) Nope. SQ doesn't allow *A members into their Suite lounges either. Guess the free flow of expensive champagne might not be able to last that long ? But i can enter Qatar lounge at London, then realised as oneworld member airlines lounge, they should welcome other oneworld sapphire/emerald/business/first customer. Just not sure whether this happens here. It's just too bad LHR MH is in T4 while most OneWorld carriers are in T3. |

QUOTE(JC_jun @ Feb 15 2016, 10:59 AM) QUOTE(JC_jun @ Feb 15 2016, 02:25 PM) CX Lounge has been my favorite in KLIA since deterioration of MH's around 2011 ? If you're into booze, power outlets and clean toilets then I've not seen better at KLIA PPL only has complimentary tiger, and non of the alcohol is self serve. QUOTE(ngiing @ Mar 20 2016, 07:34 PM) Recently i purchased economy promo tickets which is class O. Ticket class which doesn't allow for upgrade using enrich miles to business class. Anyone has any alternative to do the upgrade even the ticket class not eligible? as my initial intention was to utilize the miles I saved all the time. QUOTE(maiself @ Mar 23 2016, 11:09 AM) arghh.. Opss sorry not award ticket.. Yes, Promo ticket.. Tried with Promo ticket b4, they asked to pay the different in cash between promo & MH smart price ticket before able to do last min upgrade to business.. add another 4xk miles to Europe. Yeap, that's the answer. For some reason "O" class tickets can now be topped up to regular fare ones (list of redeemable classes herehttp://www.malaysiaairlines.com/my/en/enri...rich-miles.html). This top up is about 20% more expensive than buying the lowest regular (MH Basic, Smart, Flex) priced fare. Yes, u can use MHUpgrade for promo ticket.. what peeved me off was that I booked a lowest fare ticket (O) KUL to LHR, and bought a MH Basic (about RM700 more) for LHR to KUL as I wanted to use the Qatar Lounge. the flight is in June and the agent is telling me all redemption upgrades are already taken up for LHR to KUL including the standby list. I'm not sure if this is true or not as I'm still able to see availability for full redemption and cash+miles tickets via Enrich portal for my flight dates. |

QUOTE(aspartame @ Mar 24 2016, 10:25 PM) Why didn't you redeem business straight away instead of upgrade? About the same right? Or is it cheaper to redeem upgrade? QUOTE(JC_jun @ Mar 24 2016, 10:49 PM) Sometime we don't have enough miles to redeem full +1 Spot on by JC_jun Upgrade is only 40k per way for London (zone 5) Redeem business via online, one way is 63,750, return is 127,500 miles. You may have exactly 63,750 miles that enough for one way business class Redemption, but you need to factor in it is more expensive if you buying 1 way ticket by cash QUOTE(JC_jun @ Mar 24 2016, 10:43 PM) MH usually open up 4 seats for upgrade (class I)per flight, and it is running out fast. thanks ! I called CS, and was now told redemption not yet open ... so fingers crossed !What you see in enrich website full redemption also got limited availability, MH flex class J x9 Mh smart class C x9 Mh BASIC class D x9 You may see MH basic (class D) still able to redeem, but it doesn't mean you can redeem upgrade (class I) |
